    Buy the car, (a doer upper) and have a tinker, you can teach yourself some mechanical skills along the way. Think about the long term, once you've got the car how you want it, you will have been driving for a few months by then and insurance would be cheaper. Failing that, but a sleeper mk2 cl with vr conversion. Oh yeah, and don't tell anyone it's a Vr! [emoji2]

    I believe the younger generation will struggle a bit with insurance, I'm pretty certain you have to be over a certain age to qualify for insuring a classic car for example, whether it's the same for a collectible or not, I don't know. Things like limited mileage will keep costs down, being garaged, a good alarm fitted and getting a female insured on it will help no end.

    People will always have a chat with you about a vr6, I've had numerous people stop in the street and comment, it's rather odd I find! It can be anyone from spotty teenagers to 50+ blokes who will ask various questions or tell various Vr stories. Most finish their sentence in the same fashion, "I'd love to own one of those. (again)
