Engine sometimes needs excessive cranking to start
Vw_owner replied to Lukey.'s topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
try the crank sensor anyway even though its not showing on vagcom, atleast thats one more thing to tick off the list!! -
thanks ian, the headlights turned out alot better then expected,i tryed useing led indicators wired up to the plug but the indicators worked at the wrong speed,{ realy fast} i guess to run them them you need to wire in a resitor? but the other problem i had with led is where the blady hell do you fit them? it dont look right no matter where you fit them, turns out anyway that highbeam has two bulbs, the main bulb {the bulb i replaced with indicator} and another smaller bulb in the main section of the headlamp, so i still have a highbeam and can still flash at people if needed, obviously thoug

not gona boar you to Death -..- with the details.. but a few months back rescued this from an otherwise unhappy life down south uk, no mot,not tax and hadnt been driven for around 2 years!! if you recognise it please let me know think the previous owner was a subaru freak as it had a scooby bonnet scoop and scooby style exhaust reg K129 KWX black was white... this is when i first got it, did alot of stuff to it myself to keep the costs down, the usual service crap, leads, plugs, oil change, rear mk4 golf calipers, oil cooler seals, discs f&r, wheel bearings f&R new miltek decat exhaust

hi m8, welcome to the club not exactly sure on your question though as iv never played with my steering wheel, but most stuff like that is interchangable on the mk2-3 so more then likely probably will but cant say for sure...
-
imo its just not worth it m8, i know where we live we dont have MOT, but at the end of the day its just a mk3 golf shell, cars will allways take up our money and time and do you realy want to invest money and time into a car/shell that has had damage like that?and could potentialy never be put right...
-
the sensor on the bottom of the dizzy i belive is the hall sensor
-
check the belt tensioner bearing, you will need an m8 bolt, skrew that into the tensioner to release the tension off the belt and then spin the roller to see if it has no grease...
-
do you mean drivers side? if so that could be the carbon canister, just search on here carbon canister and see if thats what it is,
-
just ebay search vag lead removal tool
-
just replace the leads dude, especialy if you dont know how old they are?, when i first got my vr6 that was the first thing that needed doing, pin hole in the rubber, vaseline over the leads was a quick fix and worked until i got new leads
-
yep sound clips welcome! its my thread so give us what you got!! gota luv this!! Brutal!!
-
when i first had my vr6 it had a hardstart problem, the ht leads needed replaceing as it kangarood under load, but it was prone to getting a damp maf plug which made it idle funny and start wierd {not like yours is sounding though}, you may also want to check the knock sensor aswell as iv heard that can cause hardstart problems, might be worth getting the car scanned for fualts, knock sensor will defo show up if it is.

thats so wierd how your all saying that an induction kit or drilling holes in your filter box works? as i ran it for a minute with the filter box disconnected to see if it made a difference and it didnt, not even the slightest,And yes stigg im sure it has 6 cylinders just had my cam belt replaced the otherday. LOL thats a joke btw, yea its a 6! i also have a coorado vr6 with a milltek decat system which sounds realy realy realy nice!! but im not paying £450 for that to go on my daily runner but i deffinatly need to get something done as im missing out on the PURR PURRRR PURRR!!!

hi, can anybody shed some light onto my indicator problem please on my mk3 golf vr6 daily, i brought the car with the problem attached, wasnt realy bothered by it, basicaly its got an intermitant problem works fine then stops! and basicaly i just worked out it stops every time i brake! or whilset the brake pedals down! it wont work! then when you release the pedal the indicator works again, strange? so its obviously got something to do with the brake pedal switch,,,, cheers p.s with the hazards on it makes no differance.

got a annoying problem please help
Vw_owner replied to mk1kid's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
could be a number of things,me and my m8 re fitted an old set of wheels with uneven worn tyres to a car we got for nothing and the wobble/vibration we got off that was unbeliveable!! , seeing as you have only just got the car i would check the wishbone bush's,wheel bearings, engine mounts, tyres, wheel bolts if you dont know how to check any of those just go on youtube and search "how to check .............." your learn a lot if your willing also my vr6 and many others sits lower towards the passenger side. hope this helps.. -
will a golf vr6 pass the MOT with a de-cat pipe?
Vw_owner replied to paceo's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
i recently had my exhaust replaced for a milltek catback and i was told i needed a decat pipe for it fit becuase i didnt have a standard cat i basicaly had a subaru style 4" drain pipe exhaust which was loud as fxxxx so i wanted it replaced with a milltek anyway i got it all fitted and the results were sick! i mean real sick! throtle response is tightened up and real responsive and the car felt completly new! smooth and quicker! weather this is down to my previous exhaust not being correct or the cat? i dont know but i dont regret haveing a milltek decat setup! btw i live in the channel island -
did the mechanic not investigate as to why your ECL is on in the first place? as above get your car scanned for faults but seeing as that mechanic failed to do so i would take your car somewhere more vw friendly
