  1. intake air temp sensor, im not sure if it effects running, but im sure someone with more knowledge will reply.just googled what this sensor does, here have a butchers http://www.freeautomechanic.com/iat-intake-air-temperature.html
  2. yea takeing the front off would help alot,if you got the time, when i did mine there was no room if i didnt have small hands theres no way idd be able to change them seals witout taken the front off, dont know how much room you got on a golf but im guessing not much?,if you can check them seals again {remove oil cooler and re seat seals if nessacery} without removeing the front then idd do that first.
  3. i just ordered a set of weitecs for my corrado hopefully have them on next weekend
  4. haha old skool method, i like!, yea the front wheel bearings a sealed cartridge bearing and cant be overtightend unlike the rear wheel bearing which is tapper roller,so just do it FT, with the car on the ground, handbrake up and ingear with the centre cap of the wheel removed for maximum torque ,just bear in mind that some hub nuts are only to be used once, if your nut has no ny-loc plastic ring then once its undone your not supposed to re use it, i think its down to metal bits in the thread that stop it from comming loose getting torn off once its been undone,
  5. yea its quite expensive here, target do it cost me £70.00 last time{but that was on my mk4 golf which has no chamber adjustment} so it might be more?}, if you book it in they can do it while you wait so its not that bad, idd only do it if your steering wheel is pissed and the car doesnt hold a straight line?, basicaly im renweing all of my suspension parts before im getting an alignment, iv already replaced wishbones with audi tt bushs and new ball joints/track rod joints and arb drop links, just waiting on demon tweeks to deliver my new weitec hicon's then once there fitted i'll get it book
  6. if you havent changed the oil cooler seals then do so, over time they slowly turn to plastic and dont seal, go to euro marque on the bridge they had them instock last time i went,
  7. hi, when i had bad ideling it was down to the MAF plug being flooded with water, the revs were up and down from 600-1800 and the battery light would come on then cut out, so this hissing noise only happens after your engine cuts out?
  8. if your bothered by it just replace it with what should be there, i recently had to replace mine as it was split underneith and was dripping oil on to the exhaust manifold, Breather Hose 021103493A that fits my corrado vr6 not sure if its the same for mk3 golf vr6? just google search the number and your see.
  9. i can confirm its not from a corrado 2.9 vr obd1 as its different from mine.
  10. if its running ok i.e smooth and no missfires or spluttering then idd say your ignition coil is fine, as mentioned above could be your clutch is slipping,
  11. just found this, http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133864

  15. gutted m8 thats realy unlucky, when i brought my corrado i could of easily of been in the same situation except i had to be at weymouth the next morning to get a ferry to the channel islands,{no tax no mot and hadnt been driven properly for over a year, probably a stupid choice?} but it payed off! and yea the VR6 is very addictive! lol my old mk4 2.0 golf is like a slug in comparison, what ever route you choose recon engine or second hand i hope it works out for you, stick with it!
  16. when i had idleing problems it was because my MAF connection plug was flooded with water, so its probably worth checking ya MAF.
  17. have a butchers through this m8, the mileage is stored in the clocks..http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?38925-The-definitive-VR6-cooling-guide
  18. if its got bad rust problems i would try n sell it for what i got it for and be on the look out for one thats in better shape, imo i would rather pay extra for one that has no rust as rust repair bills arent cheap or fun, unless you want to have a go at doing the repairs and respray yourself?
  19. hi, i have an obd1 corrado, the problem i think i have is my temp gauge is telling porky pies! ive replaced the two temp senders, ones yellow now black and the other i think was blue? , one does the ecu and the other does the gauge, iv hooked it up to vag com and the actual temp is roughly 10 degress hotter then what the gauge is saying, my gauge temp stays around 75-80 , but the fans should be comming on because the actual temp is hotter then the gauge, when the gauge reaches the marks the fans come on as they should but the gauge will only get there when the car is stood still, any ideas g
