  1. thanks for your comprehensive answer! could you tell me if what i have done is alright? today i pressed the pin out of the connector which had the snapped off wire attached to it. removed a similarly sized pin from a plug off an old gti loom and pressed it into the plug. soldered wires together
  2. just realised that one of the four wires that goes into the yellow plug which attaches to the yellow coolant sensor has snapped of flush inside of the plug. how do i re wire this as the wire has snapped off flush inside the plug? Rich

  5. i have read about this , the coolant temperature guage on dash seems to read ok but could it still be incorrect ? if so i may start with this sensor, do i have to buy if from vw dealer or can i buy it online from somewhere like vwspares.co.uk?
  6. i might be wrong but my understanding is that a faulty cam sensor can reduce the power by a fair bit and as your describing make it sluggish and unresponsive. maybe try a another cam sensor or get it on vagcom and see what it throws up
  7. ah thanks mate , is this valve something that you can replace or buy from vw ? and is the valve inside the tank or can i get to it with just removing the access plate for fuel pump ? thanks
  8. for a few years now when i go to start the vr from cold it takes a good 3 or 4 seconds before it fires into life . however when hot it starts instantly as soon as you turn the key anyone able to help here? i was thinking possible fuel pressure problem but not sure . 9. before getting it sprayed i was wondering if the tailgate i have from a 3door golf vr6 will fit my 5 door golf vr6?
  10. sorry ment to update this , when looking for play in bushes i realised one of the retaining bolts for the caliper carrier had come loose , tightened it up and no more noise.
  11. it was on the bolts holding the caliper carrier to the hub, i could always remove them again to get rid of the loctite and torque them up but i didnt think you had to remove them to change pads ?
  12. bloody hell just removed wheel and one of the caliper bolts needing nipping up and now the noise is gone. i cleaned bolt threads, used locite and torqued up to be sure,
  13. everytime i drive over bumps or rough sections of road i get a clunking noise from passengers front side . Fitted is PI 30mm lowering springs. it only does this one the passengers front side . any ideas?
  14. When reversing i get a clear clunk when pressing the brake pedal. it comes from front passengers side, is it the driveshaft needing replacement? i checked all bolts and they are tight if so best to go second hand or new ? cheers
  15. hi mate , dim handbrake light could be the actual bulb. you change this by removing the instrument panel ( the bulb twists into the back of this) , un twist the old bulb and twist in the new one.
  16. im having to do this soon , will poly bushes not mean more feedback , more vibrations inside the car? and the hole rear beam has to come off right ?
  17. thanks, i thought it was to do with recirculating fuel tank gases/vapouer ? at least its normal !
  18. mate thats only the main water pump, this is secondary water pump. youll find vw dealer very expensive try these guys i used for my pump they have been great with parts like this reasonably priced to! : http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/tierod69/?_trksid=p4340.l2559
  19. this valve near airbox is making a ticking/popping noise from time to time when engine is running, anyone now whats wrong or if its normal? its the valve inline with carbon canister rich
  20. is this the centre box ( box before the rear silencer ) delete ? where can you buy them from as i couldnt find anywhere?
