  3. parts left from BREAKING my VR6 golf 2.8. drivers side driveshaft, needs new inner cv joint £10, 5 stud hubs £10 each, newish crank sensor £10, new clutch (covered 500 miles) with used pressure plate £15, power steering rack £20, power steering pump £10, power steering bracket £10, alternator bracket £10, dizzy £10, new HT heads and dizzy cap £10, power steering pulley £10, vr6 95k gearbox, no master cylinder or bracket £70, thermostat housing with new blue sensor and brand new thermostat £10, vr6 rear axle with no stubs £15, vr6 front subframe £15, full lock set with key and adjustable column
  4. my 1992 golf vr6 is badly need of some restoration to the sills, arches, rear quarter panel, floorpan and other parts, ideally i want to get it done before its MOT in june. So i am looking for a welder / restorer around the bromley in kent / M25 junction 4 area? went to see a chap 2 weeks ago, the painting and welding i see looked fantastic but have had no correspondence back yet, I don't want to leave it any longer and there is no way its going to get through the MOT! passenger arch practically fell off when i took the bodykit off the other day! i have all the panels needed and will pay for a
  5. harness? whats different? this was OBD1 as well as my VR6 is OBD1? just asking about the timing chain cover really.
  6. as title, my 2.8 golf vr6 is smoking, ive just bought a rebuilt corrado 2.9 engine to go in it! now my golf vr6 2.8 is dizzy and the corrado engine is coilpack, do i just swap my timing chain cover and dizzy over to the corrado engine?? also do i need to use the corrado ecu?

  8. this is the work done, it was done in december 2014, but the gentleman is going down the R32 engine route, yes i would like to see receipts so will await some pictures, he is a member on here :-) -
  9. the guy is putting a R32 engine in his corrado, seems pretty genuine and he is one of the more mature aged owners shall i say!! you not re-newing your valves benny?
  10. its on 119k miles, had headgasket, new head bolts, new valve guides, stem seals, head skimmed, water pump, tensioners and chains. does not come with alternator, thermo housing, starter and oil cooler. has pictures of the work done. whats the rough price to pay? its going in my golf vr6 2.8 as my engine is smokey!

  14. hi guys, i really don't see the point in buying a engine leak tester only to use it once, i want to do a leak test on my golf VR6 to see what is worn to see if the bottom end is ok. These are done with a compressor that forces air into the cylinders. Im located in bromley, kent and willing to pay you for your time :-)

  16. now my current daily VR6 is a double top chain on the cylinder head running dizzy. i believe if im right its a later engine put into my 1992 vr6. the breaking car i have is also a dizzy but look at the difference of the engines / cylinder heads, the breaking car has the engine number stamped on the auxillery belt tensioner side, but my daily vr6 does not have the number stamped there as the casting of the block is different. so am i right thinking the breaking car engine is a single chain on the cylinder head? (have not taken rocker cover off yet! so where would my engine number be stamped??
