    abs light is on but diagnostics say its the abs sensor!

    definatly the caliper, handbrake completely off and its still sticking a bit!

    got a link for these springs? the caliper was new about 2 years ago!

    hi guys when i release the handbrake the rear offside caliper seems to stay on a bit, after a while the disk will start to glow red a bit after driving. ive released the handbrake cable completely from this side and its still doing it. is it a case of a new caliper and thats it? regards

    update, had it on dianostic machine and this code came up - 00287 speed sensor rear right g44 cleared the code and it comes up again straight away, i take it this is another name for the abs sensor?? :-)

    right guys, i need to replace the pinion bush in my gearbox bellhousing on my vr6 golf, its the tiny copper bush that the starter motor end sits in, would probably take less than 5 minutes to do with a tap to get it out and punch the new one in! my hand is absolutely buggered today as im kind of paralised in it through many surgerys and the cold does not help at all. did have some members numbers but ive lost them all due to a new phone :-) my number is 07773114069 drop me a text as my signal is poor at home!

    cool i take it vag-com will say if its nearside or offside thats the problem? the abs unit is on the right side of the engine bay isnt it at the rear by the bulkhead if i rememeber?

    hi guys a mate of mine has a golf vr6 1993, his ABS light came on yesterday and wont go out, its the light by the headlight switches. any ideas what to look for? i suggested the abs sensors by the brake disks but they look ok by eye. ill pass the info onto him :-)

    cleaned all earths and checked fuses and no joy. its the revv counder thats faulty as the oil light will flash when this is not working. any other ideas why revv counter isnt working??

    right i found on the EDITION 38 forum, that if the rev counter does not work it will make the oil light flash untill the engine speed is measured. where is the earth for the rev counter located on the vr6?

    fitted new starter motor today and fires up fine!!! oil light still flashing and rev counter not working???? car has oil and both oil sensors were new a year or so ago! engine ticks over and drives fine.
