  1. exhaust is solid, changed a track rod end and its still doing it!
  2. right now checked everything! the lot! and its still knocking?? WTF????
  3. ive given them a wiggle with a crowbar, obviously there is a little movement but the bushes dont seem loose, i only replaced these 2 years back!
  4. i cant reply to my thread for some reason with the knocking? i think this is ok, but if i grab the passenger side track rod end from the top, it will move side to side, but there is no play in it if you know what i mean when i grab the rack and wiggle it.
  5. its doing it since i had the wheel bearing offside done yesterday? but cant feel any play in it?
  6. i cant figure out where its coming from! i get a metal on metal knocking sound when i go over bumps in my vr6, ive checked all bolts are tight and checked for play and everything seems stiff etc...... i have replaced in the last few weeks - roll bar drop links suspension top rubber mounts track rod ends both front wheel bearings ball joints on lower arms. any ideas as its pissing me off and mot is in 4 days! :@
  7. im not a fan of using the car tyre system. I hear there is a system where you put the clear pipe on the end of the bleed nipple and pump it into a bottle, so it sucks on the nipple like someone using a straw to drink a drink etc..... obviously keeping an eye on the reservoir so it doesn't empty. has anyone got any links to them? or a link for a good one that you have used? don't want to spend loads, just a decent kit out there that you guys recommend? :$
  8. as title, ive just starter breaking my 1994 16v mk3 golf due to rust. had loads of questions regarding the ABF engine loom and ECU. what are they worth seperatly then as its a common question? I cant find any on ebay either to compare with!
  9. as title, ive made up and replaced all of my metal brake lines with copper and ran the system dry of brake fluid, bled the brake system three times but its still a very soft pedal, so do I need to use vag com to bleed the system I guess?
  10. simple one, I have re-newed all the brake pipes on my vr6 with copper ones. when using the kit with the tyre, the tyre ran low of air so I changed it for another tyre, only problem is it releases the vacuum when you pop the valve off the tyre, you see loads of air bubbles come from the brake resivoir, so when you put the new tyre on are you putting air back into the braking system?? or am I wrong? thanks peeps
  11. hi guys I am re-newing a lot of the brake pipes on my golf vr6 mk3 as they are corroding and MOT time is soon. flared the end of the pipes fine, the union is tight and brake pipe does not move but its not sitting flush and the tip of a thin screwdriver can get behind it just! I don't want to overtighten in and damage anything, will this be ok?
  12. cool thank you, I thought this was the part - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251251085989?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

  16. ive got one in a blue colour if anyone needs it? £10 :-)
  17. hmm cant work out what there from though?
  18. its different to my early vr6 filter though!
  19. part number 021 115 561 filter that's been sitting in my garage for years!
  20. thank you guys. I will get this done!!! I have play in my anti roll bar drop links, replaced these years back. is it a case of just dropping the wishbone from the hub and taking the old drop links off, cant remember!!! (6)
  21. I didn't mark anything but my front tyres need replacing anyway, I notice when you put the standard suspension back into the hub there are various positions you can tighten it up into, adjustable camber reasons I guess, what way is correct to put the two18mm bolts into the hub so the tyres wear even?? pushing the disk towards the suspension strut or pulling it further away from the suspension strut? best regards
