  1. Pull the plugs on the back of the nearside rear light then your rear lights shouldn't work
  2. you could have just used a standard 2 or 3 stage prep and paint on the inlet, you could even paint the block like this though it obviously may not last as long
  3. you could have a go in a big gravel carpark and slamming on many many times to invoke the ABS, then seeing if you can bleed any more air out, but using vagcom is much simpler, it does all the work for you. After i bled mine with vagcom there was definitely no air in the system but the pedal was still spongy, this was with braided hoses too, disconnecting the rear light harness from the NS light in the boot (so that the brake lights arent permanently shining and flattening the battery, remember to re connect after!) and leaving a wedge holding the brake pedal down for a day and night then ham
  4. The early ones also got textured black side strips and they said vr6 at the back end of them, newer ones don't say anything on them
  5. its an IQ with a bodykit and leather interior, pah
  6. good to hear it will be all fixed and back motoring
  7. thats what mine does if i let it get to the redline, which is like, never, no point on this engine
  8. Very nice, looks like one of the final few to leave the factory

    Sorry.

Petrol does not combust by hitting a hot manifold, it needs an actual ignition (flame, spark etc) to set alight
  10. In which case, the thread that got me wondering about mine was is a 60mm drop ok daily, i say a 75mm drop is totally liveable with, i have no troubles with any kind of bumps or kerbs etc :-)

    VRT Sound

yea forgot the VR engine uses a straight 6 firing order
  12. im pretty sure the mk4 CR increasing headgasket is a USA part so we'd have just as much trouble to get it in UK
  13. 3.3ohm with at most 5% tolerance, fit it across the contacts, otherwise search scrappys for mk3s, if they have a driver airbag but no passenger, the passenger side will have a VW factory airbag resistor plugged in

    VRT Sound

strange when subaru flat fours and volvo T5 engines dont lose their engine sound and it gets better with an exhaust
  15. also when you do your filter and tighten it back up, it only needs 30Nm, if you over tighten it it'll crack the plastic and you'll have to buy a new one
  16. The 6mm Allen bolt is just a housing drain, you need a 36mm socket over the big plastic hexagon to get the filter out, I never use the drain plug as they are a bugger for rounding or not making a good seal. You'll lose some oil but not all of it, id leave it one night and do it the next morning so as much oil as possible had dropped back down lower than the filter housing
  17. Cheers mate just went and measured mine, mine is 595mm on all arches and my front sill is 125mm and my rear is 140mm, so looks like mine is 55mm lowered :-)
  18. lol yea, on the sills just from the ground to the lip that the jacking point is on, cheers
