    Hi all, need to change my top mounts. Went OEM last time and they lasted all of 18 months, anyone have any suggestions for something with longevity?     Bealieboy and i are meeting on way (braintree) any southerners looking to meet i was thinking South Mimms services for 7 a.m. that gives 15 minutes to chat then toddington (30 mins) for 7.45 another 15 mins chat and off to stealth (55mins) for 9, and thats all at legal speeds! let us know if its do-able. cheers steve

    mini air filter would be the PCV valve, see here http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/topic/19232-obd2-pcv-inlet-valve-common-fault-info-4-u/ radiator or the expansion tank? if its tank it may need new pressure cap and the grinding sound no idea! i had a play with vagcom and did an ABS pump prime, that sounded like thumping around the front wheels. have you a code reader? if you have an old laptop you can download the free version and get the cable from ebay for about £10. good luck steve

    hi, i have fiddled with my ratios and found this XLS very helpful, you can play around with ratios FD's etc and it gives a fairly accurate results. http://vwtechnic.com/Technic/VWGearboxRatios.xls when i had my 3.68 i found that i was doing 80mph @ 4K rpm, diesel 5th brought it back to near standard 80mph just over 3K rpm. you can also check the code on the gearbox case but this wont tell you if the internals have been swapped. the XL sheet gives you the codes as well hope this helps, steve

    when Vince tuned mine after the schrick install it was found to be running lean on the top end so i would say get it to him sooner rather than later to avoid running issues. enjoy ;-)

    hi, the Cams are top end ones, the Mani will replace some of the low torque that the cams lose. when Vince tunes it he will probably raise the limit but only to a safe setting, with 263's (new oem followers) and a schrick mine revs to about 7k (whick is still to low as i seem to get there bloody quickly!) good luck steve

    hi, when i fitted my 263's i put new oem lifters (as suggested by Schimmel). i have read somewhere that with the 268's you need to upgrade the springs and lifters to be able to use the higher revving ability of the cams. maybe drop a line to Vince at stealth? steve

    Hi mate, some details here (http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthread.php?6089382-Information-request-about-Schrick-VGI-working-s-for-VR6) There is something about resonance so it pushes a pressure wave of air in, I have read somewhere that it can be upto 6psi! Equal length runners as well, apparently the stock mani can let the 6th cylinder run lean leading to bore wear. I am looking for links I have seen in the past. My dyno plot shows the torque up till the flap opens, it's somewhere on the rolling road printouts. Good luck S

    i have a tow bar, best use is to mess up peoples cars when the hit you, i also need one on the drivers side doors as this is where they now hit me and drive off!

    Mine leaked from the scuttle on passenger side where it wasn't sealing properly to the windscreen, drips straight down onto the pollen filter. S
