    it all started for me at a cruise in a multi in my saxo. when i saw a highline vr6 slammed on 16s then when i heared him take off, wow the sound was lush bouncing around in the car park and thought damm i have to get one off those. fast forward 2 weeks and i had bought a 8v black gti as i couldnt get the insurance on a vr went through loads of mk3 gti's and a few mk2 gti's then a valver mk2 then sort of driffted away from dubs with a rs turbo, a rotrex charged saxo vts. then got a job with a very wealthy man who had something to do with luxry yauchts he lent me his tvr 350c for a couple of mon

    personaly if i didnt have the money to charge it yet i would sort the handling out good coilovers not cheap ones arb's, strut braces and uprated engine and gearbox mounts also poly bush all the wishbones etc decent rubber then she will go some on the twisties lol

    is there oil inside the bell housing...i had the same as you when i took the g/box off the rear main oil seal was leaking and had covered everything in oil...lol.was easy to do but have to take that damm box off

    ive done recovery work for a few years now and drove hgvs across europe for 3 yrs and after doing the recovery my driving has completly changed i look at these young boy racers flying past my house meters from the garden gate where my kid is playing thinking ho imature i was at that age doing the same and the things i see when turning up to recover accidents but can see the difference between the speed involved and it is really noticable and worst still are the fatals and most fatals are from exessive speed im sure bigjobbo could tell the diferance aswell. ive havnt picked a fatal up yet from

    i dont care how much fuel it uses i didnt buy it to save fuel or even expecting it to be economic i love it and will never own anything else exept maybe a r32 lol

    hey all the vr is ideling fine with no probs but when u rev her up and hold the revs at anywhere above 2k it dies then cuts back in then dies etc any ideas as i cant drive at a steady speed thnx dj

    £300 is not a bad price i can get mine in and out in 5-6 hours and only the price of coolant, oil and a engine crane which is alot cheeper than £300

    ha i pulled a brand new bmw m5 out of a flood 2day he thought he could get through the puddle but the puddle was a bit deeper than expected came up to the top of his bumper lol.....i got very wet

    and with this sort of person i bet ur bonnet cable didnt snap but probably came out of the plastic case thing in the engine bay and then charged u for a new one

    sounds like he just wants ur car.....hes trying to scare u into thinking its worth scrapping he will give u 300 do the thermostat and have a nice vr. i would defo take it to another garage or do it yourself...gd luck
