That sound like a master cylinder fault more than a mechanical bracket failure. Either the master cylinder has gone stiff or the push rod isn't aligned up and it's getting stuck.
-
Obviously the car will drive forwards like you're bump starting it, so be careful
-
Sounds like a sticky starter.. Put it in first gear, and get someone to give the car a push while you try to start it, sounds like the solenoid is working, but the motor has gone.
-
Have you got any pics?? There's no cable on these as it's a hydraulic clutch, same kind of principal as the brake system with a master cylinder. Sounds like the little tab on the pedal that pushed the rod into the master cylinder has snapped off.. You might be able to get the pedal off and have it welded back on if you can see exactly where it goes

I could relate to the base models being thought of in that wat. A mk1 and 2 look as good as a low engine spec as a GTi.. a mk4 looks almost the same bar a few little things and wheels, and the mk5's and 6's all look the same except the r32. The mk3 1.4 however, looks shite!, plastic bumpers, no power steering etc etc but you can't compare a mk3 cl with a mk3 vr6. And lets face it, most of the people who say this have probably only ever driven the 1.4 or 1.6 base model!

rear caliper hand brake mechanism
russj249 replied to tomjonesrs2's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
When you fitted the caliper, did you wind the piston out as much as possible so its tight on the pads.. wind it out until its tight in the pads (obviously wind the cable off inside the car all the way before you do this) and then if you squeeze the lever hy hand, it should only just move before the handbrake operates. Also make note that it shouldn't be so tight you cannot turn the disc with the handbrake off.. taken me some time, but 9 out of 10 cars I do at work come out with a perfect feeling handbrake.. my golf will spin the rear wheels without any drag when the rear is jacked up, yet will -
Might be worth a quick feel of the interior carpets.. long shot but if no exterior leaks, and no contamination, could be a heater matrix. Also are you sure the water system was bled properly first time? could be an air lock if the sensor has been replaced. Is it losing this amount every 2 weeks or has it stabled and now sitting at a nice level.

Sorry to butt in here, but are you on about the 3 sensors in the thermostat housing? Is so (i know its a mk3) but I have an OBD1, with coil and with air-con, but no Brown sensor? Just yellow and blue and a blanking plate thing for the last hole. You sure the Brown is for aircon? :S

Replacing immobiliser pickup/reader coil
russj249 replied to dan_a's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
Follow it back a bit.. slightly to the left of the steering column, and pretty far under and to the back if the dash is a little black box, the plug goes into this, but its a bit of pain as the wires are all ties into the loom.. easy to do, just a little fiddly and time consuming. -
Breather filter = smokey on idle? Strange issue...
russj249 replied to VR6II's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Yea, that would work if you ran a pipe from crankcase breather in rocker cover to the catch tank, then instead of a filter on the catch tank, run another pipe back into the inlet manifold on the bit thats blanked off on yours. -

Hmm, can you not use the standard valve? I know its going to cost more than just a pipe. but then you can get the vacuum to the valve off inlet, and just plug the pipe that would go to the carbon canister.. at least that way its more or less factory standard. I did have a spare elbow and valve all complete as I have a short runner manifold on now, until I trod on it and cracked it all haha typical! -

Oh and at this time of the year you will get a bit of sludge from the condensation inside the rocker cover basically.. nothing to worry about, if it clears after a nice journey i wouldnt worry too much at all.. Can always rule it out with a compression check, and just keep an eye on oil and water levels. -

If you're using an air flow meter, you should have the crankcase breather gasses bring fed back into the intake, as standard, between the air flow meter and the throttle body. The crankcase gasses have already been accounted for by the maf, so venting them to atmosphere will throw the fueling out a little. I can't see from the pic on my phone, but have you got the standard inlet pipe off the throttle body? if so I would get a pipe from the crankcase to the bit that must be blanked off on yours. -

Also just been flicking through the newest joined member, and going back to a few days ago.. I can't believe how many members are spam from China! Bloody loads of them with the odd one or two genuine members mixed in. Only went back through the new members for 4 or 5 days and most are spam.. bit annoying that they feel the need to have to spam like that. -

That looks much better to me, just the border lines underneath are enough to point out which reply they are for.. I think the only thing that isn't perfect, but can't do nothing about is that the pictures in the sigs separate the quote bit from the reply.. but do feel free to ignore me as a have terrible OCD and if something doesn't look even slightly right it bugs me like you wouldn't believe. lol But yes, what you've done is much easier on the eye, especially to me -
I think there is, however by the time you've found the wires in the mess of the fusebox wires, you might aswell run it the longer way. I'm sure there is one though, just too many wires behind the dash drivers side for my liking

Passenger side, behind the pollen filter under the scuttle trays.. remove the pollen filter and the plastic housing thing and you'll see it there.. comes out behind passenger airbag on left as you look up the dash
-
Yea second one looks like the engine hoist bracket, can't actually picture the other 2 :S I haven't got my brackets on mine either. I'm sure someone will be on soon with the answers.

Hmmm.. I'm getting a web page unavailable page come up :S the website with the picture on isn't down is it?

You're picture doesn't appear to work mate

I was always under the impression that a 268 is best for supercharge, even though a 263 would be better for a turbo, because of there being no back pressure in a charger setup, it would effectively blow boost out he exhaust. Have you done a search as its been covered many times, but also sure some charged guys will be here soon to answer a better answer than me!
