  1. Look like Jamex to me mate.. around 200 quid for new coilovers on eBay.. howevet not sure if they are called jamex anymore. Also as a quick note, the lower smaller spring is the softer spring, when this is compressed all the way, the top main spring takes over. this gives a comfortable softer ride over most surfaces when just the softer spring can be used.
  2. If your using an air flow meter, you should recirc. Otherwise that's a lot of air being wasted that the car has catered for and fueled for. Basically it will run mega rich when it dumps, which is good for flames, but bad for cylinders and valves.. Personally, just stick with recirc.
  3. I don't believe so no. If I remember correct they are 256mm non vented discs. Only he fronts changed from 280 to 288mm discs, as well as the front calipers.
  4. Hmm I may have to look into this side entry thing.. the softest spring i have with no spacers, so in theory will open with a vacuum. I still don't understand why changing the dump valve spring would raise the boost though :s
  5. Yea call the local VOSA office. I have never had a car set on fire during a test.. it depends what has caught to set things on fire. We've had a few things get hot at our place, such as Westfields and the like, and normally before fire is a burning smell and smoke of some kind, so surely the tester or his assistant (presuming its not a 1 man testing station) would have noticed. Only thing we had in close to this was a Westfield with Hayabusa engine in. Exhaust got that hot they were glowing purple and the fibreglass body started to smoke.. that was it, switched straight off and abort the test.
  6. Cheers for that Andi i might give that a go.. I have done a little testing over this week and put the soft green spring with 2 spacer discs in, however for some reason the car now runs at around 16 or 17psi boost instead of the 14 that the wastegate is set to (just spring no boost controller) why is this?
  7. Doubt it would make a difference, but mine is a Forge Supersize 38mm ID recirc valve, and my boss's is a convensional 25mm ID recirc valve (i think Forge GT2 but can't be sure)
  8. I'm trying to set up my dump valve properly, as I don't think its doing its job properly. Now, I'm running 14psi, so which spring do I use. I currently have the yellow 15 -23psi spring in, and I don't think its opening unless you take it up to nearly full boost. I tried the green 5 - 15 spring with no spacers, and it made a huge rushing noise, so I suspect it was opening, yet still would make 14psi, so now ive put 2 spacers with green spring, and still making blowing nois at full boost, but does open at a much lower pressure under vacuum. Now, my boss's car, which wad built at stealth has a bl
  9. Just use a bit of pipe to connect the matrix pipe to the one to the header. They're both the same size so nice straight join. Basically run the same way as they would through the tb, but picture your bit of pipe as the throttle body.
  10. I have 2 vacuums on my short runner.. One is a spout for the brake servo vacuum, which has a t piece bit capped off as standard. I have taken the little green cap off and run boost gauge off that. Then I have another vacuum pipe from the manifold, which has the first t piece for the fuel pressure regulator, then the pipe continues to the back where it has another t piece which splits it for both wastegate and dump valve. However I'm running mine at a constant boost so no boost controller.
  11. Yep. Just loop then round. Not really needed anyway, and I replaced those with ptfe pipe and now my tb pipes are the water feed for turbo. Just cut it past the split and put a joiner in.
  12. Your a bit far from me otherwise I'd pass the details on.. and as for durability, that picture was taken this summer at our caravan in Wales, about 2 years after they were refurbed. Just been cleaned with warm soapy water, no chemicals, and brake dust doesn't stick.
  13. Few pics of mine.. these are powder coated.. few different angles. They're not a shiny finish but you get the idea. Photo0162 by VR6Joey, on Flickr Photo0160 by VR6Joey, on Flickr Photo0161 by VR6Joey, on Flickr
  14. I had my BBS rx2 centres powder coated by a local company. I paid 80 quid for the 4 (with just the centres and not the rims) they bead blasted them for me (shot blasting was too harsh) and then powder coated them in a grey I chose. It's a company my dad uses with his line of work, which is fire protection, and these are the people that coat the containers that house the fire equipment on some oil rigs and power stations, so a proper hard, good finish. Ive had them a couple of years now and not a scratch or a blemish. Brake dust comes straight off with just a soapy sponge. I'll post a pic in a

  17. More likely going to be Hella Quads.. Price depends on condition and finish, there's normally some on eBay.
  18. Its only using nice simple quantum levitation search for it on YouTube and there's a fair few videos on there that I think you would like. Very interesting stuff and think this may have an appearance in a lot of things in the future, think its a pretty big advancement. What else do you think this could be used for other than transport .
  19. I ran mine like that for ages.. one day I started it and it blew the box to pieces, so bypassed it and was all ok, and I did get a sucking noise that sounded like an air leak, but it actually went strangely enough if you put both hands on top on the inlet manifold.
  20. Jack the car up safely, and before you take the wheel off, grab the wheel and shake it side to side and up and down. Chances are for your issue, it'll be side to side play. You need to find which ball joint has got the play in it and.go from there.
  21. You need to get it on vag com really and have the fault codes read.. it could be a lot of things.. and you could be replacing a lot of things and still not get anywhere.
  22. It doesn't control anything on the car, unless you have aftermarket ecu's, then they can send out feeds to that. Mostly just for monitering. As for the holes, you would need to keep your standard o2 sensor to feed the ecu, and another bung welded in for the wideband. I have heard good things about thr AEM controllers, I have an innovate lc-1 with an analogue gauge (matches my boost gauge) and find it very good, can also get both with a digital readout if you want lights and colours! lol
