Serious car choice Question. VR or Passat. Unbiased opinions welcome :)

Nope, clunk/scrape/tap speeds up as the revs increase. I do need to check under the rocker..... a job for later on this evening with some beers. -

Many apologies for the crud quality. Best I can get though. x5q9rwYX4Fc -
Might be a no goer for me...... it might be,not sure yet. VR is mounting up costs and I'm rather strapped. I shall see, either way, even if it is non refundable, I wouldn't care about the ticket and could go to someone else...... but like I say, we shall see.

There's always one. To be fair though, I always allow for one wise guy.... always craig lol. The thing that is bugging me the most, is the tapping and the welding. No point spending crud loads of money if the tapping is an underlying issue that damages the engine. -
Boost reading on N/A car from OBD reader

Don't know bagger all about the app, Rich. Maybe a HUGE shot in the dark but I don't know if this is either a temp or pressure sensor.... sensor of some kind anyway. The vac hose for the servo assist is on the right, 2 x HT leads.... underneath and directly to the left HT lead is that sensor with plug. Please correct me if I'm wrong people. -
Right, basically, I've got the VR6 back on the road but I also have the Passat. Both have issues and this is where I'm tearing my bald hair out. VR6. 1) 4 new tyres needed soon. 2) Inner CV joint on N/S driveshaft kaput. 3) Both Wishbones and balljoints need replacing. 4) Suspension needs replacing (I own a new set but will struggle to remove old set). 5) LOUD tapping "clank" coming from above cylinders 1 & 2 that seems to have become worse today. 6) Welding needed on O/S sill for MOT. 7) ? New HT leads, coilpack, Lambda, MAF..... Passat 1) Hot starting issue 2) Front link of wishbone need

If I drive like an old fart, low rev gear changes means that the car spits and misfires VERY noticeably. She doesn't pull cleanly after 2k ish revs and while climbing through second gear at full throttle, she misfires once or twice through each k of revs. At some points when I've stopped to reverse or pull into a space or pull from a junction, she misfires terrifically..... feels like she doesn't want to move. Each trial and error repair.... MAF, CP or lambda is toward £100 each.... will get her on VAGcom at come point with Craggsys permission. Cheers guys.

Grab yourself a bargain, how can you resist this????

I hate these greeks with their coal coloured pigs..... -
Should be on the side of the starter, a terminal....without that plugged into, the car will not crank. The only other plug with duel terminal is sat on the reverse sensor. The single terminal also has its counterpart toward the engine.

LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I'm guessing most people now have an image of some 15 year old gangstarrrrr, desperate need of a belt, baseball cap and left school with full "innit" qualifications at 12....... probably why he's so far out with his maths. This car has had an absolute fortune spent on it and is almost immaculate throughout.... large racing stripe. i have also put a little device on this that acts like a mini turbo and up the bhp by 30 and save up to 31% in fuel and it works!........ computer cooling fan. i am looking for another car after this not sure what i want something cheaper to -

Right. Please, hear me out. I know it sounds stupid and really pathetic. Back when I ran my VR, I used, no word of a lie, a tumble dryer outlet hose with a few stockings for filters, as a direct CAI intake to the VR MAF and on the rollers, created 183bhp. Now, I have a crap payed job, a mrs that wants NO money spent on it and a child, so money saving is a given. Now, I wondered if the intake pipes and tumble dryer intake, wrapped with a shed load of kitchen foil (I'm not the kind of guy that gives a flying turd, if the engine bay is "scene" or not), and wondered if kitchen foil had heat reflec -
A rather unusual looking Ford Focus RS, marked Around A46/A4600. Followed me home for 4 miles on main roads and minor roads, sat up my arse and causing more near misses with other drivers than I've ever counted in a week. Follwed eventually, to a set of red lights, they both sat staring over at me and giving me "intimidating looks". Wound the window down and asked them if there was a problem and why they had sat so close to my car for over 4 miles, so much so that their lights were not visible in my rear view, I ended up getting "no, there's no problem, though If you keep up with that sort o
