  1. It can be removed but you will be left with two small hole in the glass. Better of buying a replacement and work on that. That way you will retain the original for resale maybe?
  2. Cowpatmatt, Let us know when you have sorted it out, maybe we can buy your brand.
  3. Well if he is paying with dodgy cards then it may take a long while before anyone cathes up...so I would say no considering he has only 2 feedback ratings......also the paypal protection is shite, they only cover you on a percentage basis up to £150!
  4. Those look similair to the New Eos alloys? Also guy's how can you tell the difference between different types of leather, Beaver, recardo etc.... Btw the looks great, a bit lower ant it will look even better!
  5. Yeah I was a bit surprised when I got my alloys back slightly damaged. Maybe just pick the tyres up and have them fitted somewhere else? It is a good price as the tyre shops around north london wanted £50 ea, the cheapest.
  6. ardandy, Sorry did not read the original post correctly. What do you mean by overfueling?, are you saying this because of the petrol smell?? I guess we are nearing winter so most cars have whitish smoke around now.....mine does. Also the fumes from my exhaust does smell a bit rich but I would not put it down as "overfueling" becuase it is not that strong also I have a performance exhaust, not sure if that makes a difference. When last was the spark plugs replaced ? Could be a faulty plug hence unburnt fuel?
  7. Did you fit a new sensor or used? I had the same problem on a polo, it turned out to be the temp sender on the thermostat.
  8. I would like to remove the plastic arch trimmings from my car, I know I will need new trimings/rubbing strip bits the front wings, what about the rears? If I remove the rear plastic arches will I need longer rubbing strips for the rear wings? [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1194035781_5799_FT0_image_041_edit.jpg][/lightbox]
  9. Oh yeah forgot to mention that my alloys got slighly scrathed in the process, but I did not mind as I had done the refurb myself and it was not the perfect job so yeah, but from the equipment I saw in the store tells me these guy's are really serious when it comes to aftermarket bits, maybe I got a trainee working on my set?? Also you are probably a few miles from them as Hatfield is in Hertfordshire as well??
  10. Yeah, It was also fitted by the store, so total was around £40 ea incl balancing. Got them from Rtec St Albans link here if anyone is interested... http://www.rtecshop.com/index.php?p=product_view&product_id=6308#
  11. SankysVR6, Can the suspension be adjusted? Thanks
  12. woodz77, Had the same issue, had to buy 4 new 205/40's. Paid around £33 ea for budget tyres, could not afford anything better at the time.
  13. I bought one off ebay, from the powerchips guy. Arrived today, might have a go tomorrow and fit it on, but was just wondering about this £250 chip! Well just to be cheeky I have asked him to send me proof of this so called "26 + Bhp" increase. No response yet.
  14. If it's a five door then maybe check the rear door seals? They also cause leaks.
  15. I have found a powerrchips on ebay where the sellers is claiming that he gained around 26 BHP after fitment, Is this possible as imo that is a lot just from a chip??? *-) Ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/golf-vr6-superchip_W0QQitemZ180173626615QQihZ008QQcategoryZ40192QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  16. Mine has a twin fan but no AC?, so I assume it must be standard to have 2 fans? but I remember someone once mentioning that the earlier models came with one fan?
  17. I thought the bulk on the extra weight on a vr is at the front due to the engine?
  18. As above, do the golf mk2 rear shocks fit a mk3? Thanks
  19. oops, sorry picture now attached. [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1193429252_5799_FT178747_radiator.jpg][/lightbox]
  20. stevietots1, I am sure it is located on the right hand side of the radiator (with you facing the engine), the power steering bottle gets in the way, so undo the bolts for the bottle and move it slightly, no need to disconnect the pipes from the bottle, change when the engine is cold and leave the expansion tank cap open (if not you may need to bleed the cooling systems thereafter) You will need a 30mm socket. Just remove and refit, simple even I could do this! Good luck.
  21. craggsy, you are right, they are from the S3, my mistake. ET35 and 7.5J .
  22. Where can I buy these for a mk3? Thanks
  23. Interesting, find out what it would cost to have the whole car done, might do mine.
