  1. Hi Guy's, Does anyone have a closeup picture of the wiring harness on the steering column, I need to compare mine as I cannot locate the airbag connector?? Thanks
  2. Hello Guy's, Fitted a new heater matrix the the car and realised the the drivers side airbag plug has been disconnected, it is blue in colour and is loctated with the ignition plugs, had a look around but could not a locate a possible place to plug it. I know it is the airbag as the passenger side has the same plug. I have a feeling that it plugs into the ignition stalk but had a look there as well. Any help or a diagram will be great. Thanks
  3. Hello All, I need help regarding the metal dash support bar that runs across the bottom of dash. Basically the steering tube is bolted to it with snap off / shear off bolts and was wondering if there is a way to remove it without completely removing the steering tube??? Thanks
  4. The guy got me a bit confused as the listing says the chip is not available for cars after 1994, mine is OBD1 but 95 model??? So he requested for me to send him the ecu number, that is why it is taking me so long. Anyways please update the post after you tried one out. Regards
  5. I have a Milltek, it is not loud but sounds great, also it is complimeted by the induction kit, and together they make a perfect partnership. Personally I feel that louder exhausts are for cars that appear to be fast, but the VR really is fast so no need for loud exhausts as the engine sound is what wakes my neighbours up! Good luck.
  6. Not yet but I will be in the next month or so. Will post a comment after fitment.
  7. Will do, won't be for a while cause , I am going away on a long holiday, should be on in a month or so. :-p
  8. gav_vr6, did not mask the tyres because they are the wrong size, 225/45/17, so they are going to be replaced
  9. Ok, one wheel down! All I can say is easy peesy, first time I ever done a refurb and it seems to have been sucessful. The only mistake I made was not rubbing it down properly as there are some minor defects after paint but barely noticable. Pic below. PS: Did not remove tyres as they are going to be changed anyways.
  10. Gv_vr6, I think you have a good point, I bought a detail sander and spent 30 mins on the worst wheel (above), sanded pic below. Need to get some sanding blocks tomorrow and get the curves done also a bit of filler. If all fails then might spray them all black?? But it is worth a try. Also these wheels are not difficult to sand. Oh and my spray booth is going to be a big box in my balcony.
  11. Hello Guy's. Just picked up a set of Audi S3 alloys for the vr, however they are in need of a refurb. Money is tight at the moment so I thought I would try a refurb myself. Found this link from google on how to go about it. Anyone here done this before??? If so please can you tell me how much primer, paint and laquer I will require. I intend using the spray cans , so an estimate in 400ml cans will be helpful. 12. Hello P262YUD, Had a similar issue recently, the hub adapters are rather expensive. When I investigated H&R was the best adapter kits to buy, but not sure if they make 5x112 to 5x100 ?? But either way they where rather expensive, around £220 ?? I decided to get 5x100 alloys as I don't think it is worth it unless you were fitting ultra rare alloys or porsche jobbies., I would advise you not to get redrilled adapters or cheapies as I was told that it can be dodgy, best get a set of H&R, probably google it and see what rocks up?? Good luck.
  13. Hello Guy's Just won a set of Audi A3 alloys of ebay, but they are fitted with 225/45/17 tyres, I know they will not fit due to the profile size (45), but can anyone confirm this? Thanks
  14. Yeah it is the power chips, I am going to take your advice SYD. Thanks
  15. I see your point, but then again £30 is not much, more importantly I am concerned about any possible damages caused by these cheaper chips ? Anyone tried a similair chip?
  16. Hello People, Just found this ebay and was wondering if they are any good?? For £30 it seems to good to be true? Ebay link here...... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-MK3-Vento-Passat-Performance-Chip-VR6-AAA-2-8L_W0QQitemZ320138535382QQihZ011QQcategoryZ32094QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. Hello, Just realised that my clutch gets noisy/squeaky when the car is driven for a while if I start the car from cold there is no noise , only if I drive for about 45 mins or so? Also is this any course for concern? It selects gears fine, 3rd can be a bit sticky sometimes but nothing major? Thanks
  18. This might seem like a dumb question, but why remove it? Does it make a difference to the performance? Thanks
  19. Thanks for the response craggsy, but just realised the typo, I meant to say aribag sensors? Do the airbags even have sensors and where are they located?
  20. Are you referring to the engine speed sensor? and maybe using a vagcom?
  21. I have got a K&N Filter, it is good for the noise but don't expect any power gains, personally I don't think it contributes much??? Also you can have a heat shield fitted, another £13 so £33 in total is not a bad price??? Unless you have around £160 to spend on the BMC. As damian said, thats my 2pence worth! 8-) Link for heat shield...... http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?183454
