  2. I can do you a 2.9 Corrado metal rocker cover if you have no luck with this one. It's been soda blasted, sprayed silver and has no damage. Bare cover only, no studs or fuel line mounts.
  3. Sorted elsewhere with a genuine item. thanks in any case.
  4. Hi guys, I need a Mk3 Golf Cabby front passenger side electric window regulator or even just the motor from the regulator. Part number is 1E0 959 801. Does anyone know if the motor from a 3 or 5 door car will do the job. Part number of it would be 1H0 959 801 Any help or advice would be very welcome.
  5. Available new from Trimsport, have a look on their web site in the alloy parts section.
  6. Yeah, just checked VagCat. 20 bolts required for the VR6, all M11 x 1.5 but there are three different lengths included in the set ............ 85, 119 and 144mm Link below, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bolt-Kit-Cylinder-Head-02082-Febi-VW-Ford-Seat-/331583784567?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&fits=Model%3AGolf%7CCars+Type%3A2.8+VR6&hash=item4d33ef0677
  7. You do not mention what engine your car has but VagCat shows that Mk 3 cylinder head bolts are actually M11 x 1.5 x 96 with a socket type head............ does this sound right, are you sure about the M12 bit? Taps come in two types, taper and plug. As the name suggests, a taper tap is tapered and will not clean threads right to the bottom of a hole so a plug tap would probably be a better bet. Both types are readily available on e-bay, just do a search for M11 x 1.5 taps. Link below for cylinder head bolts ............ M11 x 1.5 x 96 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK1-MK2-MK3-
  8. I'll let you know soon as I've just ordered one for my VR6 Mk3 Cabby. I have a BMC one on my VR6 Corrado so I'll be able to do a fair comparison.
  9. I recently converted my 2.0 8v Mk3 Cabrio to VR6 and encountered similar problems when I was forced to do an ABS delete on the Cabrio due to numerous faults in the ABS system. I eventually finished up using a brake servo from a non ABS Mk3 diesel, part number 1H2 612 105 and a twin outlet master cylinder from a non-abs Mk3 Gti. I had originally hoped to use the original ABS brake servo in the Cabrio but the mounting studs for the master cylinder that I used were in the wrong place. The master cylinder needed the studs at 3 and 9 o'clock while the ABS servo had offset studs which did not line
  10. More stalks here ............ £20 for the pair .............. £12 each .............. posted.
  11. You will find the ET stamped on the back of the Porsche wheels. Pics below show 7s on the front, 8s on the rear .......... all ET 52 on 20mm adaptors.
  12. The thickness you require will depend on the ET of the Porsche wheels. You would probably like them to be around ET30 after adaptors, so subtract 30 from the ET on the Porsche wheels and that is approx. the thickness you require. I've run Porsche 928s with an ET of 65 on 35mm adaptors and another set of Porsche 928s with an ET of 52 on 20mm adaptors and both worked very well.
  13. Just a few shots of my current Corrado. 1994, 94k miles Ice Grey Violet VR6 with some subtle mods.
  14. You may find that the new head unit has a short loom attached to it which plugs into the car loom. If so, you may well find that there are bullet connectors in the red and yellow wires between the plug and the actual unit. If there are, then simply open them and join yellow to red and red to yellow. The problem is not with the head unit, it's just the way old VWs are wired and you will always have this problem when fitting a modern head unit............... it's just a case of joining red to yellow and yellow to red somehow.
  15. I did this very conversion not too long ago. I sourced a donor car and just dropped the complete engine, sub frame, drive shafts, bigger brakes and everything out in one go and bolted it straight into the Cabby. You'd be daft not to use the rear axle from the VR as you'll get a disc brake rear end .

    Vr6 hose

I can do you a complete top radiator hose with the expansion bottle hose moulded into it. In excellent condition, it came off my '94 VR6 when I upgraded to a silicone hose set. Photos below show the hose and the part number............. it's a one piece job, no plastic T piece. PM me if you are interested.

  19. Just a few photos and a quick write up re. our recently finished MK3 VR6 cabby. Originally a 2 litre automatic, a blown engine and gearbox led to the VR6 conversion. We bought a VR with and excellent history and basically transferred everything we needed into the cabby ..... engine, front and rear running gear and we added in a few mods along the way. All bump strips were removed and plated over as were the front side repeaters. US spec running lights were grafted into the front bumper and are now used as repeaters with orange bulbs fitted. Washer jets were smoothed over and MK4 Golf item
