  1. p0304 and p1240 sounds like the the same thing, possibly the injector playing up causing a mis-fire on no 4 cylinder. not sure what heated o2 sensor is could be the lambda. ive only ever used a generic hand held fault code reader not vag-com and those codes dont match my handhelds list as it uses its own codes/descriptions

  5. im sure i did put pics in the gallery, if not check dubscene some pics on there. gunna be selling everything not used in the conversion. so for starters it will be silly things like glass, interior, mk4 style head lights, strut bar, rear lights and that. for sale ad has been posted, then once the mk2 is up and running everything i find in the garage not attatched to the mk2 lol

  8. these boys are fecking legends, bungy turned up a little early as i was going to the doc's. ended up the doc running best part of 45 mins late and by the time i got back they had it swinging on the crane. i'll say it again.....FCUKing LEGENDS

    im in pompey mate so miles away. i've got some help with placing the engine and that. im using the complete mk3 loom to make life easier. i have already fitted the mk3 front sub frame plus mk3 rear beam for the wide track set up. all i need now is a list of part numbers to make a cable clutch set up or a rado pedal box which is proving hard to find. and a solid front mount. once its all installed i'll pick at the little jobs as and when time allows
  11. to me it sounds like an ignition prob, find someone with a coil pack u can borrow, any coil pack from a vr6 engined car will fit. it may have a crack in one of the individual coil packs. god knows im forever going through coil packs. ive bought 3 new in 4 yrs lol although 1 was an expensive mis-diagnosis by a garage. get it either vag-com'd or on a generic hand held fault code scanner, since non of us have actually seen/heard the prob it's all hear-say and could get you no-where. my hand held has been a saviour a few times
  12. a turbo set up can be done for under a grand if your not afraid to spend time sourcing the parts and building it yourself i think it was jim with the first sub 1k home brew.
  13. i agree with the originality side of things. i just wondred why not start with a larger capacity engine since it cant be cheap to up a vr to a 3 ltr. just thought it would be easier. but then i like taking the3 easy way as i dont have the technical savvy to do what many of the gus here do. i think paul and many others here are not only pushing the boundries of what can be done to a mk3 vr i think their destroying them and showing that dedication, imagination and a fair size pair of cahooners can yeald awe inspiring results. im gunna be sending my funeral hearst round to his for a 6 pot turbo c
  14. strange question but instead of a bored out vr lump would it not of been easier to start with an r32 or even r36 lump/syncro set up??
  15. have you checked under the skuttle and under the rear seat, i beleive thats where your ecu's should be. if ones missing you know where it is lol

  18. it.s not hard it's about 25mins along the a27 from s/hampton if you behave
  19. rattle from cold could just be oil draining out of the top end leaving it dry, especially if standing for long periods or if a slightly thinner oil is used it will drain down easier. for your own sake dont use cheap oil. your engine wont appreciate it at all. although they are hard wearing engines they need to be treated with respect

  24. shame i decided to convert to mk2 at this time of year, could of had the mk3 welded up and on the road for its final year. mk2 will never be ready in time. but it will be there next year for sure.
