I like their style! During the call they were interested in getting the car running as apposed to talking Monopoly money rebuilds!
I was quoted £8k for nuclear blast proof rebuild by George Martin racing. Wtf?
I look forward to finding what's up with the nothelle!

CTS can be blamed for Over Fueling too. Unplug it and see if it still the same.

MJ Vr6 got a reaction from Bealieboy in mysterious water loss
Check pipe that connects to Expansion tank and follow.
As BealieBoy stated, change the Cap!!!

MJ Vr6 reacted to Bealieboy in mysterious water loss
Outside air temp sensor is located at the lower left plastic in the front bumper, if you didn't know, I should think that will have zero to do with your water loss though. The sensor is most likely faulty.
Have you felt the front carpets for damp? Sounds like it might be heater matrix?!

MJ Vr6 reacted to Jimjon in Timing Chain Replacement
I've done it three times now, its not too hard to fit the actual timing gear, its getting to them that's a pain in the arse.
Am just down the road in Dunmow so not too far away.
Will be the crank seal you want as well, fitted to the bottom timing chain cover.

MJ Vr6 reacted to c00k in ht leads in red
I think red and blue are now obsolete,
And they only sell black at main dealers and TPS.
But I'm not 100% sure.

MJ Vr6 reacted to sleepymike in ht leads in red
Genuine vw ones are red, and are miles better than Magnecor leads!

MJ Vr6 reacted to c00k in which ecu?
You can have the immobilisers removed / deleted from the ECU.
Afew places offer it:
United Motorsport,
VW international parts,
And a few other places.

If your going for a catch can you could just put another hose to the throttle body hose and have it sealed properly

MJ Vr6 reacted to Therusterman in Replacement Coolant?
If its just the expansion reservoir thats low, you could get away with just topping it up with some water for now. Regarding what type of coolant, what colour is your currant coolant? G13 would be fine, but its best not to mix different types. Also, would be worth investigating where the coolant went aswell.

MJ Vr6 reacted to Bealieboy in Bad misfire, runnin on 4
I'm sure crank sensor failure will make the engine cut out completely, not affect individual cylinders. Have you checked all leads are seated correctly on the coil and plugs. Did you replace the coil etc due to the misfire?
