  1. Using water will be fine for a short term, but would try and replace it with a coolant mix asap.
  2. Anyone on here using it? (have made similar thread on corrado forum) Am getting a new engine soon and tempted to try it. Not found anyone using it yet.
  3. I've had Beru leads on my corrado for about 5yrs now and had no problems with them Spark plugs i've always used NGK BKR5EKU
  4. Hi mate, You pm'd me a while back about the vr6 block, (i bought one of them as well) I took mine up to Stealth racing yesterday to have it built up using my old crank and rods. Vince told me balancing isn't worth while and not to bother (so I'm not) I mentioned someone from the internet told me about the oil jets (meaning you) and that you hadn't installed them, was told that would cause a lot of problems and probably seize the engine if they aren't fitted. I think that is probably the main culprit.
  5. I used Schutz, which is either the same or similar to what VW used (i'm told). http://www.frost.co.uk/schutz-underseal-1-litre.html Can also buy a gun for it, That website is actually really good, bought loads of stuff from them.
  6. Inlet manifold and throttle body are different on the corrado, as well as the bigger displacement of course.
  7. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARP-VW-VR6-12pt-Undercut-Head-Stud-Kit-/321419262388?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ad614b9b4 Was some cheaper sets on there a few months back
  8. Am in the middle of gathering all bits for a new engine, I have a corrado but decided to go with a 2.8 bottom end. (place on ebay was selling them brand new) I'm looking for someone to build up the bottom end, i think i can do the rest, i have the brand new bottom end with pistons and my old block with used crank and conrods. Would like to get the crank and rods put in the new block, also was thinking of having pistons, rods, crank, flywheel etc balanced. I know of Stealth racing, i'm in essex so not the closest but i heard he knows the vr6 engine quite well. Anyone have any feedback or r
  9. How do you do a throttle body alignment on a corrado vr6?
  10. I think its a place called lake county or lake country that do a kit for glass polishing. I looked into it before, but ended up getting a new windscreen after some stones hit it.
  11. Got a few randoms here from when i did mine.
  12. Have you got the leads on the correct order?
  13. I bought an ultra sonic cleaner and in my opinion it only really cleans the outside of the injector. I also don't believe the Mr injector thing, seen a few of the results print outs and do wonder if someone is just manually typing figures into a document.
  14. The pipes to the throttle body are to warm it up in very cold weather (i think?), not really sure it matters in this country. I ran mine without and didn't make a difference.
  15. No, this confused me as i'd just bought the head stud kit for over £200, apparently its the studs for the crank end.
  16. Does remind me of coilpack, its usually worse under load, like hard acceleration or driving up a hill, Changed mine about 3 times now. Always been able to spot it by spraying some water near the coilpack and listen/watch for any sparks leaping out of it.
  17. Didn't know about the single use bolts, i reused all my bolts, was a good 15,000miles ago now and all been ok, i did loctite them though.
  18. I too didn't bother undoing exhaust, take a bit of wiggling but pump does come out.
  19. I just had this on mine and it was the head gasket had gone and was pushing air into the cooling system and pressurising it, but i also had a symptom of it running a bit rough on startup for a few seconds as 1 cylinder was filling with water when left overnight.
  20. Just done mine myself as well. Used a sealey 350kg stand' date=' although i only put engine on it, not the gearbox. I removed the rear engine mount bracket and used the same bolts with something to pack them out as they are too long. Inner cv joints on the driveshafts are a bit of a pain to undo/torque up imo, don't enjoy doing them
  21. any pics of the bolt you mean, just fitted my gearbox and wasn't quite sure on the bolts, the starter motor seems to have two bolts, both different sized heads.
  22. Vodka & Yakult , 50/50 mixed.
  23. Sorry for my delay in response. Am told they are a straight fit for 24v too, and if people want shorter ones, that can be done. Just asked him about the mk2 vr6 for you.
