  1. I thought the beeping was a warning sign of low oil pressure
  2. Yep, just pushes over, tbh i remember once it being a pain and just fitted the seal without using the white thing. You need to use a hammer and some wood to fit the seal into the timing chain cover.
  3. Yeah, its just to help fit the seal over the end of crank, doesn't stay on the car
  4. No i just do all my work at home, home mechanic sort of thing.
  5. Looks like the Teves02 to me, the pump is the same as the one i removed from my car. The teves20 has the pump and ecu in one unit and looks totally different, so it means you also ditch the ABS ecu inside the car
  6. I've done it three times now, its not too hard to fit the actual timing gear, its getting to them that's a pain in the arse. Am just down the road in Dunmow so not too far away. Will be the crank seal you want as well, fitted to the bottom timing chain cover.
  7. Teves02 requires the valve on axle Teves20 does away with it and the lines go straight to each caliper from the pump in engine bay
  8. They do a sach kit on eurocarparts, its exactly the same as the kit you get from the VW dealer, I've bought one from the dealer and one from eurocarparts and they are the same thing in the same box, Except VW was £280 and ECP was about £100-£120
  9. I just don't see the point of all the effort to fit something that's been superceeded by a better system with easier to get hold of parts, all brakes are individually controlled rather than having the rear brake compensator which seizes up. Its also less brake lines to make.
  10. I always break the price down, £200 for 4 shocks and springs and the maker and the seller are making a profit, so really your putting £25 worth of suspension on each corner. I don't know if that's a good way to think, but its how my mind works with cheap stuff.
  11. Why not go for a Teves20 system if fitting ABS?, its better than the older stuff.
  12. "There is a black thick gauge wire coming out of the firewall and under battery tray, it looks like it should go to positive terminal because it's long but then I'm not sure, did 95 GTIs have a black wire on the positive terminal of the battery?" I've just come to putting my corrado back together and did find a thick black wire that goes to the battery positive terminal, i was sure they were all red but apparently not. Its 1995 VR6
  13. Very nice, i've been thinking about NOS on my corrado, have built a new engine up and want to run it in first.
  14. I'd try HIC as well, i always phone up when its insurance as it seems easier to get some money off.
  15. Maybe we are looking at different things, I remember my other Peter Russek manual saying to replace them
  16. On page 13.32 its notes the bolts as item no. 5 and says always replace. Going to check my receipt for my bottom end and see if they were replaced or not.
  17. Looks OK. What makes you feel that it's wrong?
  18. Could be the clutch fork bending.
  19. iirc there should be a one way valve to in a hose going to the matrix, not sure how it helps getting the air out though. Quite interesting reading this as i've changed my matrix, also the engine so not coolant in car at all.
  20. I'd fit new ones if it was me, I think you can re use them but i'm a bit anal so tend to fit new stuff when possible. I also buy them from ebay, Seller Unit15, they sell some good parts. I also haggled the price of them down a bit as i was buying one of their new vr6 blocks at the same time.
  21. I used this thread on corrado forum, Near the bottom of first page is where all the info starts. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=82229&highlight=teves20 It was quite a bit of work, Ditching the old wiring and then remaking the hard brake pipes. Not hard, just time consuming.
  22. I've just ditched my Teves02 system and fitted a teves20, this does away with the rear compensator. My car is OBD1 and i'm quite sure the ABS doesn't affect that as its all independant. I now have 2 rear lines that go straight to each caliper, so each rear wheel is individually controlled.
  23. Hi thanks for reply. I bought a brand new block and pistons (was a guy on ebay selling them) Then got stealth racing to swap over the rods and crank from my old engine, i asked them to fit everything else new. So all bearings and washers etc I think after reading your reply i'm worrying about nothing Cheers
