    It's a big K&N cone that came with the charger kit. The old MAF wasn't dirty when I checked it either. I ran a cotton bud over it and it hardly had a speck on it. But I'm sure being way down low at the front of the car doesn't help the connector. It must be getting all the crap sprayed at it.

    VAGCOM 00537 - Lambda (Oxygen Sensor) Regulation 11-10 - Control Limit Not Reached - Intermittent 00553 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) 29-10 - Short to Ground - Intermittent 00513 - The Usual Engine Speed Sensor Fault when running VAGCOM with the engine off. All of these are historic faults. IE: before I replaced the MAF sensor. So I cleared them and I'll take it a drive tonight and rerun VAGCOM. It could be a Lambda fault but I tend to think this is showing an error because the MAF has been faulty. Could also be a wiring problem. Stealth will have extended the MAF wiring to relocate it behi

    Weird little torx they were with a little nipple. Luckily my latest Aldi purchase of a 120 piece screwdriver set contained the right bit. Swapped the MAF over last night and the car drove beautifully. Had a nice 30 minute blast around the countryside. Parked her up for the night with a smile on my face. Started her this morning looking forward to a trouble-free drive to work. Nope! The bag of spanners is back. I'm getting miffed now.

    Ok. Throttle Body Alignment on a Corrado is not possible. They don't have a motor driven TB. You can do the ECU rest procedure and "Basic Settings" though. http://wiki.the-corrado.net/vr6_ecu_reset_procedure.html I cleaned the ISV and tested it. All ok. Made no difference. With my car being SuperCharged, the MAF is located down behind the bumper. I took the connector off and cleaned the connections and that improved things for a while. I'm going to try and get the sensor out of the MAF tonight and gently clean it. I also have a spare MAF I can try. What sort of torx are on the MAF sensor? I

    I think I'm going to have to take the ISV off and test it. If it's not clogged with dirt, it could be the solenoid is getting lazy.

    All Corrados are OBD1 iirc. Throttle body alignment seems to be the general consensus from reading other threads. I'll check under the bonnet for leaks too. The engine was recently rebuilt at Stealth, so the throttle body and ISV should be ok.

    Brought the VR6 out of hibernation at the weekend. Battery was completely flat after sitting for 6 weeks so a jump start was needed. Took her for a 40 mile run to charge the battery and shake the cobwebs out. Had her out again last night, started on the button. 20 mile drive, no probs. This morning on the way to work she drops below 500rpm and cuts out every time I take my foot off the gas. If I try to start her with no gas she just turns over. A little pedal and she starts but cuts out again as soon as I ease off. Unfortunately I can't find my OBD cable at the moment to run a scan. What shoul

    I'm pretty sure brand new handles are "obsolete" as far as VW are concerned. You'll not need them anyway as it's only ever the striker that breaks. You'll find a kit on eBay again.. Or there is a guy called Daves16v on the Corrado Forum who makes kits. I've used 2 of his kits in the past and they worked a treat. Removing and refitting the arm is a little tricky. Best use a vice to hold the handle whilst you work on it. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=10426&page=76&highlight=handle Passat rear handles. You'll find them new on eBay for not much. Someone in Poland is making them.

    I got a set from Dubpower a few years back. They were recommended on the Corrado Forum. http://dubpower.co.uk/HT%20leads.HTM £50 posted to me in Germany for the "Premium" leads. I was advised not to bother with the pricier ones and that was for a Supercharged VR6.

    I'm in Germany. But the car's in Southam, Worcs @ Stealth Racing. What condition is the engine and can you pallet it up for collection?

    The only thing we can think of is oil starvation due to a blocked oilway somewhere inside the block. So I'm trying to source a replacement block. If anyone has knows of one up for grabs please let me know via 'PM.
