  2. no probs on calling and I hope the thumb is improving. Sitting comfy and sucking your thumb makes it feel better I got a new battery block on its way but I gotta wait 'til Friday for that.   3. I cant remember the belt rib number Will try and look later. Tension is on the money like you say no movement! No in car meter but used a multimeter and it showed 12 to start and climbed to 13. Switch lights and heater on and you watch it drop steadily... Belt not touching anywhere I so contact seems ok for me!
  4. Ok, So the other day having just fitted the charger and done 50 miles my alternator packs up and the car ends up sat by the road. Get a new alt. (VAG) and fitted it last night - with a little help from my friends! (Thanks Pat,Alex,Tim-mayyyy) Just about home and all goes dark and stops! Quite a shock! Call the AA out & the conversation went something like this.... AA: Alt is shagged RCF: No way m8 brand new VAG fitted 23.5 miles ago AA: Dont care m8 it's shagged RCF: Dude No way.... AA: Dude.. Way.. AA: the regulator is shagged and not allowing for the extra needed when lights etc on.

  7. A few questions for my ongoing purchases Any one reccommend a good place to buy Methanol for my Water Injection kit?? De-ironised/filtered water vs tap water Does the 50% mix give me less issues with using boiled or tap water as opposed to using the old de-ironised stuff? Concerned about blocking the old injectors of course in time! Any comments are welcome. Cheers
  8. there's quite a good thread in the members section on how to do it... Also don't need coilovers unless going low more than 35mm-40mm. koni/gmax do a spring/shock kit.. Option is yours! May be worth doing strut tops as mentioned (bearings) and as mentioned cast and camber on the old laser alignment is required. if you're both doin it then should be done in a couple of hours. Spray them bolts to help the process Good luck

  12. Right well s/c fitted and Cooling mist installed. Here are some pictures of the install process care of Sparkz.... Please check prior to the install that you have the right belt before you start and Aircon mount. Mine had come incorrectly supplied. But Sparkz/NS resolved same day.. The Cooling mist is definatly more ermmm... robust than Aquamist! It really does need to be mounted on the boot. just too big anywhere else. The water tube wasn't long enough in my kit so the local aquarium is a good source for the pipe as it is a slightly different size to the norm. I'll add some pictures of th
  13. grill is clipped in. get the torch and screwdriver out (wrapped in tape) get comfy and you can see the little black plastic clips. The cable is a 2 part affair and has a plastic clip box on drivers wing. Check here as it opens or comes off its' mount. tie-wraps are the answer! can be a bit fiddly but a little time and it will open as blackmagicvr said
  14. Lot to be said for the deal you can get. Try NS racing for a solution. If NS can't do it then I can give you another name. American solutions are good deals at the mo due to strong £/$ rate. If money is tight you can always build on stage 1 going forwards in life. Remember to add money in for extras as you increase in stage. Remap for example... A low milage 2nd hand deal might be an option. They pop up on here from time to time! If fitting for yourself then lots of help on here from guys who've done it!   16. Not convinced by them..... but please prove me wrong. As long as you have complete exhaust, remap and filter then after that you are starting to do something a little more serious.... Cams/turbo/supercharger.... depends how much power and where you want it..

  18. Well I chatted to a few people and it seems MAFless is the option when MAF doesn't work.. I don't know if that means the same as Quick fix and I also understand if OBD1 & 2 react differently. I do not understand why etc but pass these observations on for the point of discussion! I know you CADGUY have a slot just before me at Stealth So am keen to understand this and learn from your experience!
