Ad, did you part in your manifold for the polished or do you still have it? -
You'll only get air con from factory with a highline I'm afraid chief. I personally wouldn't risk buying an ok car for the sake of air con when my money could get me a real good car.
-
For the price difference I personally would stick with a standard vr and get a better example for your money. Air con aint that important surely. Highlines are nice but you'll end up getting a poor example with your budget.
-
You'll get a belter for that money chief.

Highly recommend these guys, did my rears in no time and did a great job. Good bunch of genuine guys too.

I think the vrs just have a badass cool factor about them, I mean come on, golfs are just plain cool anyway and everyone likes a golf but a golf with a 2.8 engine in. Coooolness. Loads of cars blast up and down my road and I get heaps of looks and nods in mine. I went from a 16v mk2 crx, which to be fair was an insanely awesome car for the money. if you ever need a cheap ass run around that is fast, handles well with all the electric toys you can now get a valver for about £600, just serious body rot is an issue. I love my vr though and as mentioned earlier, the only to sell up would be to ge

UPDATE ALERT!! Not that much really, got my hands on the fog ducts from Adam, sanded em down and painted black. Added smoked front indicators too, but may go back to normal clear indicators for contrast. Also managed to tint spray the clear rears all red which look sweet (pics to follow). 2.5" zorst with decat going on soon too, just waiting in the cellar to replace the 2' dtm system, with cat. Bring the noise!

Only just got the 17s on, mainly as it's been a long project so had to see it through. After a few bits and some nice pics I'm gonna try and get me some 16s again. I fancy 9s on the back and 8s at the most for the front, like you say, you can't drive the car hard on 17s, especially if you have any decent looking slam on em. Bump, bounce, ding, scrub...etc...not as much fun as I'd like.

Live in Bolton but work at Man United, can be seen on the m60 mornings and nights.

Lowered on fk konigsport coilies, not sure how much by. 17x7.5s on 20mm spacers. Needs the rear arches rolling and the front raising and stiffening. Resized pics, craggsy Moderator edit by: craggsy

Well I always wanted a car that sounded like chewbaca screaming when you put your foot down. Had a honda crx, loved it but wanted something that didn't scream like a kid so wanted 6 cylinders. My pals vento vr made me hard everytime I got in it but a boot wasn't for me, hence the golf. Never looked back or regretted it. Always loved muscle cars so this is kind of an affordable alternative. AND the look sooooo cool.

Ad, if you decide against the fog ducts give me first refusal, been after them for bloody ages. -
unique I think is the word. far too low at the back, get some rake going on,arse up, nose down.
-
Jay, lookin into that, thinking of breaking up the space a bit with some textureds all round, just a pain with the rear bumper as I'd need to either get a whole new bumper, or maybe get the valance painted matt to match (??) i think the codeds make her look fat for some reason. They aint cheap either, worked out at about £75 a side for the sills plus about £70 for a splitter, oem so will look elsewhere for now. As for bottled gas.....wouldn't have a clue where to get that from.....buwaaah haaaa!!!!! Not in Rammy either, Bolton near metro salvage.
-
Was a bit iffy myself but thought I'd give it a whirl. Works better than I thought they would, look better in the flesh too. Just need to sort the rear lights out and we're off!

Well its been about 10 months in the making due to having no pennies but I finally managed to get her looking something like. A bit of a nu school oem+ slant, someone's gotta try it. 17x7.5 bbs denver rims, repainted in graphite, yoko rubber with 20mm projektzwo adaptors and fk konigsport coilies. Couldn't really go any lower as I'm getting rub on the rears as it is, quite a badass nose down rake goin on though. Just got some clear side repeaters to go on and I think the back lights are goin back to standard smokes, kinda gone off em. Not the greatest photographer but here are a few snaps.
