  1. I saw that on there and thought "if only they made one for a VR" Did you get a price off them? If you're interested in a de-cat let me know. I got mine from a company on Flea bay for a good price. worth the money imo. You might need red top injectors to get the most out of a stage 2 set up and the increase in power will need a bit more fuel
  2. Thanks for the comments mate. It's taken a while to get it looking like it doeas (just over 3 years) but as you know once you start you can't stop. I haven't had it mapped properly due to a missfire caused by a sticking valve diagnosed by Vince at Stealth! I've got a ported and polished head ready to go on and possibly a lightened flywheel. I'm hoping for somewhere around 260 brake once the head is changed and I take it back to Vince to have it mapped. Do you have a de-cat on yours? Stage 2, hmm.......... A year ago I wasn't even interested in a charger and just over three years ago I wasn't
  3. I'm swaying towards Action at the POD guys. I have it on good authority that there is this loooong stretch of tarmac that you can drive as fast as you can in a straight line for just over quarter of a mile. I don't think there is anything like that at ED38.
  4. The slipping won't be caused by your release bearing. It will be the pressure plate being worn down to or close to the rivets. A weak cluch cover will also add to this and make the pedal feel heavy. I would always recommend changing the plate and cover together with the bearing. the work involved in replacing a clutch on these engines makes it a false economy not to change all three. If the second hand cover and plate are as good a you say then fit them but change the release bearing while the box is out. remove any surface rust with WD40 and a coarse sandpaper FOLLOWED BY BRAKE CLEANER to r
  5. here are a couple of likely culpits. It could be a faulty cap on the coolant bottle but you would usually see signs of the water leaking under the car as it runs down the back of the bottle. Check for damp inside of the car particularly in the passenger side footwell (r/hand drive) as a possible sign of a leaking heater matrix. Have you noticed water in the oil/oil in the water or a creamy mayo on the inside of the oil cap? that would point towards head gasket. Also are the fans kicking in and are both top and bottom hoses the same temp when at running temp? If not then it could be thermostat
  6. Here you go guys. They're NGK Laser Platinum PFR6Q 6458 plugs. I can't remember how much they were but I think they were purchased from Euro Car Parts. GSF should also sell them and those with premium membership should get a discount
  7. I've never been to keen on Denso plugs but never had them in my VR. Just down to personal preference and past experience with them. I've got NGK's in mine but the ones for a S4. As you know mine's charged and was told that they're a cooler plug so that was good enough for me. Let me know if you want the NGK number. Kevin
  8. I have one of these plugs in the glovebox of mine. It is the override plug for the factory fitted Conlog alarm. I've got a Clifford on mine now so it's of no use. Any more info on how you got the matrix out without removing the steering column?
  9. I live nearby and work in and around your area. I'd be happy to have a look at it for you. Hopefully pinpoint the problem and recommend a good local garage. I've sent you a PM with my number. Kevin
  10. Cheers Jim. i'm going to strip mine down at some point and see if i can do the same. Hopefully there is an equivilant led or zenon style bulb. When you say individual bulbs, do you mean the rings?
  11. Look a bit different to the ones I've got on mine. Lovely looking but that size could be a bit of a handful
  12. Mine starts first turn of the key even in this cold weather and with a sticky exhaust valve (not charger related). Pretty much bolted the charger on and used ever since. It's only a stage 1 but it does exactly what it says on the tin .
  13. A bargain at that price. I'll take two
  14. I haven't driven in Brmingham for years but I'd agree with you that a large percentage of bad driving is caused by uninsured and non licenced drivers as they feel they have very little to lose apart from a £150 fine and points on a licence they don't have *-) .
  15. Great minds eh (I must type faster than Cabrioman next time)
  16. Sounds strange, If it's been off before then it can be taken off again and sprayed. I have had my front bumper prepped and re-sprayed after slight front end damage. The bumper itself was straight but the paint had cracked slightly. Try another bodyshop and if they say the same, keep an eye out for a decent second hand one on here and get that resprayed and fitted. A new one will cost you a couple of arms and legs i think.
  17. Given my experience of instructors I'd have to say it's a minority as I don't like to generalise. If it was all of us nobody would pass their test. I teach the following. If a student is turning left or right, after checking the relevant mirrors, the appropriate signal should be applied well in advance of the turn. I also teach them to expect the unexpected. This includes the vehicle infront having to perform an emergency stop regardless of the reason. So I always say keep a safe distance from the vehicle infront just incase they don't signal correctly or it cancels before they turn. I also
  18. No probs. That was meant to be never rev above 3000rpm btw. lol. I've just seen that we're in the same part of London. Be good to see the beastie once it s up and running If that's your reg I'm sure I've seen it out and about at some point.
  19. If you were a little closer I'd offer to take you out for a spin so see what you think. I've got 17's on mine but i did drive it with the 15's when i first lowered it. It sat a a nice height even then but the TT Comps had to go on. .If you haven't already, take a look at the thread on my car http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?119591.post to see the sort of height with standard wheels on and then with the 17's.
