  1. Sorry to hear about new rear mods Donna hope ya get it sorted out and as you say at least the Chav lights bit the dust!!!!!! :-p :-p . Ya could get it all smoothed now, or maybe change to a vr and show Mark how its done. Graham
  2. Forgot to mention my vr has aircon so no problems with doing the above. You are not disconnecting the panel just moving it to get access.
  3. Pop the front fascia panel off first to reveal four securing screws. Undo these then push the heater panel gently into the dashboard, you should now have just enough room to unclip the white shroud that sits round the bulb. The shroud and bulb can now be detached from the wiring plug. Refitting is the reverse. No need to remove the unit from the dash at all... Only one bulb is used to light the three dials its fitted as above, there is a film fitted behind the dials which the light uses to transmit its glow too the outer two dials. Hope this helps ya both out. Graham
  4. Ok the easier way is to remove ya glove box and this will give you access to the space on the left hand side of the dash then when you start to feed all you cables into the dash you can reach them from the access space you have just created. This means you can safely pull the cables through and allow you to fit your stereo without risking pinching a wire. Hope this helps. Graham
  5. *uck me thats a bloody nightmare... its pissed me off so much cant begin to imagine how gutted you are. Really hope you get a chance to re-build it. Graham
  6. Nice one Donna am sure you will do us proud... Claire ya were great thanks for what ya did... :-p Think ive seen a 3 door mulberry vr lurking somewhere in Hampshire gotta be worth buying Donna so ya can show Mark whos boss. (6)
  7. Liking the pics gang sorry to have missed this one but just came at the wrong time roll on next year.
  8. Mark 6.5" indoors m8, technically tweeters should be mounted within a range of 4-8" from the woofer for ultimate sound reproduction. But that would position em around you knee caps personally i would make a bracket up and position em under the dash grilles where the old ones where fitted. Also i fitted the crossovers under the dash not in the door. Graham
  9. Defo not Laserline m8. Maybe toad but defo not laslerline. Try locating the sounder in the engine bay and see if it has a logo
  10. Well im truly sorry to here ya sellin up m8 its never good to end a project so hope ya really thought it through. Good luck with whatever ya replace her with and hope you recoup some cash on the bits ya selling. Dont think ive seen the car but i did sort ya a gearknob out a few months back.... All the best.
  11. Yes it was gt4 by all accounts..... Update , things have not gone quite to plan. Jake's new beast is er well vr sick.... +o *-) ( He is blaming the goth (opps) for breaking it but i think it was probably Jakes heavy right foot HA HA . Apparantly they thinks its the clutch!!!! Sam got done by a M5 ring Taxi sounds painfull to me... Mk3anni Steve is having fuelling problems. So judging by the fact that i think Seven cars left with about 13 people i assume some of em have driven the ring with out any problems. The gang leave to come home tommorrow so fingers crossed they all make it home in one
  12. Just an update for all those who are interested. Spoke to Jake tonight and everyone has final made it to the RING after a few hiccups..... :-# A BMW split a rad in France and had to wait for the AA to sort them out. Couple of laps were had by some of the gang early tonight and Jake for once pitched his tent in daylight! Now all sat drinking and playing on the bloody playstation (Warren).... Further updates tomorrow

  15. Jake is waiting for me to get off work on friday hence the later start we will get to you all as soon as we can. Cant bloody wait hope the weather is ok.
  16. No problem if you look below your expansion bottle (right hand side near bulkhead.) You will see a rubber gromit about 2.5" in diameter if you remove this and make a hole in the middle of it you can poke your power cable through it. The end will then came through bulkhead in car under neath passenger side glove box. Just remember to seal round the hole in the grommet with sealer and refit the grommet into the bulkhead. Job done.
  17. Loving the progress photo's Jake hope shes ready for our trip to Edition 38 and i promise to try and keep up. Hope the new speakers can be heard over the roar im sure shes going to make. Good work my man.
  18. Yes you can they all use the same body shell so fitting is not a problem.
  19. If the new owner is a VW nut then im sure we will see dusty at the shows so you will have to be there too Claire to make sure shes doing all ok. The club would not be as organised if ya left so hang on in there and bring on the deisel challange....

  21. As life moves on you either change with the times or get left behind. This club has realised that and is moving in the right direction. There will always be those people who were born to break rules and annoy others but they are in the minority on this site. :@ :@ With the hard work that Admin and the Moderators put into running this site im sure it will grow in strength each and every day. I have made some friends in the time that ive been a member on this forum and for that im grateful to Pete and the Gang. I always know someone on here will be able to help with almost any vr6 related q
