    Coilovers???

    What's a decent set of coilovers without spending silly money for my mk2 vr? Does it make any difference with the weight of the lump to standard stuff?
  2. I haven't actually seen it myself just going on what the guy at the garage said. The thing was only on for a couple of weeks. I've just had it towed back here for now, I've got to wait a week or so before the guy's got time to take the head off.
  3. My motor's sucked a lump of my shrick flappy thing up, it's lost compression on one cylinder. Haven't took the head off yet but I'm not holding my breath on getting any good news from here on. Can the flappy bits be bought seperately? And has anyone got any ideas on the extent of damage this will have caused? Cheers Chris.

    3.0 VR6

    I've just killed my 2.9 vr on the way home. Does anyone know how much I'm looking at to make it a 3.0 and how much a rebuild to standard 2.9 would be? Also where would be the place to take it?
  5. I've got a mk2 with a vr lump in it. I'm after more power and was looking at sticking a rotrex charger on it, but I'm now been drawn to sticking an R32 in it, they look so sexy. I have a few questions, what's the weight difference between the two engines? Will the R32 sit straight on my vr mounts? I'm thinking it's about 250 but what's the bhp of an R32? And what's the score with the wiring?
  6. My Vr has blown big holes in 2 hoses within a month, There seems to be a lot of pressure when they go. Is there anything causing this that I can check myself or could it just be a coincidence?

  8. Ideally I'd love to go with a rotrex, but am looking for a cheaper option, turbo's look the cheaper but I haven't got a clue what to get.
  9. So it's going to need charging to get 250+, I figured as much but what's the best way to go for the money. Also, where abouts are C2 based?
  10. I'm looking at getting a few more horses out of my motor, 250-300ish. It's a 2.9 and at the minute it's had the head ported & polished, got a 6 branch manifold, decat, Schimmel 263 degree cams, shrick inlet manifold and a BMC CDA. I haven't had it all fitted and mapped yet and it's going to be a bit of a treck to wherever I take it so would like to sort it out the first time. Does anyone know what the best thing is for me to do, what bhp it would make and how much it'd cost??
  11. I've driven it myself now and think it's a bit better but not brilliant so I'll sort some other bits out and take it for a remap. Hopefully that should do it.
  12. I took it back and got told that both cams were a tooth out, then when they fired it up it was really bad, so bad they turned it straight off and they've put it back how it was. They noticed there was a wire off the cam sensor so put that right and it's still no better. They're now stuck for ideas and say it's a waste of time stripping it again, has anyone got any ideas of what's gone wrong?
  13. Have you got any idea where the other end should be, does it run straight to the fan?
  14. I'll take a look at how many pins it's got, think it's 2.
