Sparks and Engine Spluttering...
Justicevr6 replied to Raf's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I would check to make sure all leads have a good conection and then spray some WD40 on them, that should do the trick. -
One is for your average and the other is the journey you are on,stopping and starting will make the average much lower

The clip that holds the socket on is in the first picture, as for the bracket B&Q sell mild steel flat cut and bend to fit, your one has broke becouse the weak spot is the holes and engine movment has broke it. -

There are quite a few things you can do with a registered version that you can't do with a non reg one. A while ago a member asked what system was required to opperate vag com I just found this answer. 1.4 What are the computer requirements? A PC running Windows: We recommend at least a Pentium-100 (or AMD equivalent) with 16MB of RAM and Windows 95 or newer. VAG-COM may work on some lesser PC's, but anything less than the above recommendation is unsupported. Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000, and XP are all fine. Available disk-space should be al non-issue, VAG-COM requires less than 10 M

brake warning light plus abs light!!
Justicevr6 replied to scruffy's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Not long ago I did the whole car brakes disc's bearings pads etc and when doing the o/s/r bearing I damaged the sensor and my abs and h/b light stays on, I have not yet put it on |Vag com but have put my code reader into the socket and it comes up with 011F,so you might have a damaged sensor. -
A core plug from main dealers should'nt be expensive, under a tenner I'd have thought.

Justicevr6 replied to jonnyedinburgh's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
There is a list of all the possible places the conector could be on this forum. After reading Jonny's post I also brought a Vag-Com lead and a reader as well so I can get codes without pluging it into the PC http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4577939305&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:UK:11 Should be here soon and I will be putting an add in Trade-it maybe earn some money. -
Well what do you know ti was the PCV not seated right ,I had to take all the engine top covers becouse my hoses arrived from Germany today so had to take that stuff off to replace the hoses and while it was easy to see I checked the PCV as Alanf said and it was only just on,I must have dislodged it whilst doing somthing else,I have most of those new sensors so will change them all lol!!.I have a big box of old but not broke bits becouse I fancied putting new ones on cost me the best part of

I would'nt try to undo the filter by undoing the little plastic nut, above that there is a much bigger one, there is a special tool for this but if you use a strap oil wrench you will be OK, I tried to use a set of mole grips on the small one and nealy broke the filter housing as it was just to damn tight.
