    I have a Sharan, it got the room I need and is tidy, I have just had the windows tinted and I am now looking for a nice set of wheels. Any idea's on what size and what would look nice, I have looked at hundreds on e bay but the options on size and type just dose my head in. They are 15" at the moment but look to small for the arches so 17" / 18" or 19" has got to be the way to go. Any idea's.

    Main dealers always charge max r.r.p whilst most motor factors put a more realistic price on things,I rang the main vw dealer for a part and got quoted

    Once you have the hub removed take the seals off and bearings and that will leave the bits that are pressed into the hub , if you get a chissel and hit the inner edge (Fatest side) of the bearing from the opposit side then the bearing will come out very easy, when putting the new one's in just make sure you start them off square and they will go in easy, when you get to the last bit use a socket to push it home. Check that is butted right upto the hub flange put the new greesed bearings in ,refit inner seal. put the rest back together. job done

    I just filled mine up and will top up as soon as it uses 1/4 tanks worth. I have'nt got it for 2 days as it's in having the windows tinted so that will make it last a bit longer.They gave me a loan car. A Skoda comfort &| .

    Joe, have you got disc's or drums on the back.and not that it makes a great difference but what car is it.

    Thanks for the link Steven but they do not have side steps, the parts listed are just possible things that could come in on a vehicle they were the first port of call when I done a search.I also did a search for Ferrari side steps and they listed them also !amazed

    What a pain , I got new bushes that were a little to long filed them down and put it all back together.turned the key and hey presto the window worked fine then it got slower & slower then stopped,all that time wasted, looks like a trip to the main dealer tomorow. ~

    Hi I know most of you guys and gals have Golf's but I have been trying to locate a place that do side steps for my sharan,a mate of mine has said he saw a site that sells them but I have typed everything I can think of but can not find a place that sell them. I am having the windows tinted this Friday and a nice set of side steps would enhance the look me thinks. If all else fails I will have to get some made.

    Dose anyone know a place that can supply the bushes that are inside the electric window motor,I rang VW main agent and they do not do them saying that you have to buy the whole unit , how stupid is that when the units cost

    I was reading another thread and they recon that the VR6 uses oil in normal running.

    You've been reading the Haynes books to much. I have today changed my plugs and leads. You will find it easy to work on if you remove the plasic covers. 1.Mark the leads 1 to 6 so you know where they come from. 2. when pulling the leads from the plugs use the tool for the job or make sure you pull on the rubber or 9/10 the lead will detach itself from the plug end. 3.Take the old plugs out 4.Put the new plugs in (if you are using a spark plug socket you will find it easy to pull the socket off if you remove the rubber ring inside the socket) easy way so as not to damage plug is ,put the plug i

    Could be your oil pump worn and not moving the oil round quick enough so engine would knock until the pump gets working.

    In general if the big ends are knocking you need to get the crank reground and a new set of shells to match and that is a long term fix,if you just replace the shells you might get 2 days with a quiet engine or even 2 years but 9 times out of ten as soon as the oil get hot they will knock again. Problem with getting another engine you don't know how sound it is on the inside and could be unlucky enough to buy another one and it only lasts a year.If it were my pride and joy and finaces would allow I would rebuild the one you have and do the rings and seals at the same time.

    I got some oil from the motorist shop today and after rembering a post about oil I looked at the oil that I had been given, it reads Carlube 15w40 specification SLICF A3 B3 B4, I know it's not the best in oils but is it OK to use as it dose not say semi synthetic on the label.

    I know these are not the one's you guys mentioned but a friend of mine brought round some Champion RC10PYP4 and said they are also the right plug to fit a P reg VR6 Sharan,the best thing is they are free but no good if they do not fit,I have tried searching for cross reference but cannot seem to find if these will fit. Dose anyone know. ?!

    Hi all I am going to change my sparkplugs and leads and was wondering what are the best type to get and how much would they be. Thanks for any advice .

    Shrek it could be his fault if he was in the wrong lane and cut accross the other drivers path who was going round the roundabout. Not his fault though if the driver pulled out as he was comming round.

    antera309 thanks for the information,I have been thinking and I may well sell my model car to help finance this,are the parts easy to obtain secondhand.
