Spark plug socket tool
Justicevr6 replied to jonnyedinburgh's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Plug size is 10mm socket 16mm, I would have thought you are better off going to a shop and just buying the socket (about a fiver)as most people have a ratchet and bar. -

Best way is put out your fag if you are smoking %-6 Yes fuel will leak from the filter if you have an old washing up bowl then put this underneath whilst changing it,when restarting the car it may die out until the filter fill back up with fuel,it's a simple job to do. Sorry forgot to say, no the fuel in the tank will not empty as soon as you take the pipe off the filter as long as you are not putting the new one on till tomorow.

I have posted this question on another forum before thinking that a lot of you will have or had a VR6 auto. My question is Just wondering if it is posible to alter the gear change in relation to the speed I am doing. If I drive normal the box is smooth and quiet If I floor it it red lines in each gear going into top at just over the ton What I would like is to floor the throttle but have the gearbox change at 5500rpm instead of red lining as I do not feel this is good for the engine. Is it possible ?!

I just want to make sure everything is working as it should,as most know I have been going through the car full service ETC and when I boot it it soulds as if it is sucking too much air I also feel slight vibration through the gas peddle when booting it,It may just be me worrying to much but I want to get all I can out of the engine. http://en.openobd.org/locations.htm#vw_sharan_7m

Internal fan makes radiator fan come come on
Justicevr6 replied to Justicevr6's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
Cheers Chaps Went out and tried it and you are 100% correct thats a load off my mind,it just seems the more I do the more I find wrong, changed the coolant found a leak in a pipe behind the engine -
I am sure this is not normal but when I put the fan on in the car the radiator fans kick in even if the engine is cold, it dos'nt mater if the fan is set to hot or cold,if I turn the fan on with the ingnition on but not running the rad fans will not start but as soon as the engine starts the fans start as well. Any idea's. &|

I have been looking through the Haynes book on the Galaxy (even though I have a VR6 Sharan) and thought I would check how to top up my auto transmision fluid, the book says it is best to take it to a dealer as they will plug in the diagnostic to make sure it is at the right temp for checking so for me to do this would be hit or miss as to weather I got it right , then on the very next page it says about topping up the final drive level which is a different fluid but still for an auto box. I am not stupid but could someone explain what and why there are to different oils in the auto box, becouse

After thinking I had sorted out my water problem on my Sharan I noticed today that the temp was getting a bit hot so when I got home lifted the bonnet I could hear a faint hissing from the rear of the engine bay and a hose that comes from the back of the engine has a sensor plug on it and just below the sensor there was a lot of grud and I could see water trickling out, What I need to know is, is there a quick temp cure to stop it leaking until I can get a new one on Monday.
