  1. Cooolio Thats a fair time for a 60ft. in a street FWD car.. my old bus runs around that sort of time and runs low 16's would that be a dark blue one?
  2. we only need it to be dry. cold we can take actions against. To which end I've just picked up (the last) two sacks of charcoal from my local garden centre. If anyone can find more it would be good as we always seem to get through everything, and more. How many people are actually planning on using tents or are we all going to car camp?
  3. felt like a topical change for a while
  4. Sounds like a design to me Yep, one for me please.
  5. apart from Syncos which also have the 2.9 to help overcome the extra weight and power loss of the 4 wheel drive
  6. numpty of all time has to go to Earwig-vr6 who left his sun roof fully open one snowy night. tell me about it. as a kid i never realised how much effort my father put in dragging the sledge to the top of the hill for me.
  7. the only suggestion I have left is to unplug the other one as well in case it's not the yellow one!
  8. according to my wiring diagrams there is also a 'third speed coolant fan control' switch (F165). Not sure where that is, might be one in the 'stat housing.
  9. I try... Which fan switch did you unplug? Can you tell if the fans are running at low or high speed all the time?
  10. just a statement. I guess to test will be a multimeter job to see which connections have / havent got voltage
  11. any supplier of road legal plates will now demand these.
  12. which is prone to water damage as it lives directly under the header tank.
  13. here's the lead tool number. if you are lucky there may be a plastic one still on the bonnet prop.
  14. hiya and welcome. There is a tool available from German Swedish and French for pulling the plug end of the leads. The part number was posted recently, I guess in this forum somewhere. Could be the middle section of the coil has gone, so that when you remove any of the others it struggles as it's then only running on 3. When you were playing with the coil end of the leads did you see and arcing? Have a look for cracks in the coil pack in the light. The timing chain is the gearbox end of the lump. How many miles on the engine?
  15. where quoted you £200. that's more like what an OBD1 costs. Several people have indeed posted recently about VW doing an exchange OBD2 one for around £65.
  16. And of course it's not a Highline ;-)
  17. there's a how to in the premium members section.
  18. Hello and welcome. looks like you could do with new oil coiler seals as well ;-) As Tony said; not difficult to change but you may end up having to replace the thermostat housing as well as they can be as brittle as each other, and you have to take the housing off to get the pipe out. Oh and I think his link is broken though: http://gruvenparts.com/website/cart/cart.php?target=product&product_id=255&category_id=60
  19. will phone on monday mate and see what the score is on camping but when I phoned them re the event later in the year was told it's just turn up and grab a patch no worries then Ben. I've got my hazard tape to mark us off some space and am likely to be there quite early. I'll take a head count the week before once there are some weather / whether forecasts
  20. Didn't realise there's camping on Friday night as well. Not sure I'm up for two nights camping in Feb. But it does make me more inclined to book some allocated club camping for the Saturday night as there is greater chance of the dry bits - there is is already so much standing water in the fields around me - being tacken.
  21. the digital ones say 'viewable in all lighting conditions' but also include a visor, implying that strong sunshine will give you problems
  22. un metered air will have strange effects on the running, so it's certainlt something to do first. what year was the donor car? Does it still have it's diagnostic port accassible?
  23. yep, three. one middle front, one by the gearbox, as pictured, and the last one - the rear engine mount - somewhere else *-)
  24. in extreme cases they end up looking like this [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1173217376_2196_FT0_1171467164_3722_ft0_p2140175.jpg][/lightbox] Gear Box mount. so look for early signs of 'leaking'
