  2. how do stranger, welcome back! i keep changing my mind on a daily basis on the rims kid in a candy shop....... i'm not overly keen on having the arches rolled, but i really like 16x9's and real low....but that means rolling !dodge but we shall see
  3. hi all, for once its not an issue with my car! my girlfriends golf mk4 golf clutch 'screams' when she first depresses it (after start up) and also the clutch pedal is already sometimes depressed and she has to hook her foot underneath it to get the pedal where it should be. any thoughts? cheers
  4. they all sit high on the front on factory shocks, nothing to worry about there. suspension would be my first mod, if you don't wanna go for koni coilovers(bit expensive imo) fk or supersport do good set ups for half the price.
  5. on my old car , the head was changed and the chains put back slightly out. car lacked power overall and there was a dead spot at around 2400 rpm. so i would go with the chains being slightly out. stealth sorted it for about
  6. it ain't real bad, i can just see some very light scratches as if a bit of muck has got into the sponge. i will leave it til after tomorrow, perhaps you can take a look at tell me what you think?
  7. can you use a cutting paste (t-cut) on a large area like a bonnet, or is it just for small areas to get minor scratches out? i don't want to end up with a matt bonnet! cheers adam
  8. i was told if its hard to start when warm could be gasket/head gasket problems just thought i would add a little christmas cheer

  12. mine still hasn't come back from the mechanics (two and a half weeks and counting to change a bloody head gasket) so i may not even be able to make the day, oh and some little scrote dented my roof!!!
  13. stick a bag of sand in the boot, this usually does the trick (according to the old man who had a tail happy jag, but he did end up wrapping it round a lampost)

    Glove box Q

yours looks like a 94? so it don't come with a glovebox. may also have been an optional extra on the early ones.
  16. the bmc isn't just a vr bit of kit, its a universal kit for other makes aswell.
  17. that is a great price mathh! do they have a rolling road ? i would always want to get it rolling road tuned after chains were replaced, get it nice and smooth.
  18. form what i know and everyone i have spoken to the head should be skimmed when the head gasket is changed, mine is being done at the moment so i will be asking for a copy of the skimming bill. if you want to speak to someone that will know for sure speak to Vince at stealth racing, he will be happy to have a little chat with you 01926 812259.
  19. as you look at he engine its the black box at he right hand side of the engine. there is a guide in the members section about testing the coil pack, it will have everything you need to do in there.
  20. the battery should have a years guarantee so take it back first, ( it needs to be a heavy duty battery) if the remote central locking works then the battery does have some life in it otherwise you wouldn't be able to get in the car. so could be the ignition barrel or starter motor or damp coilpack
  21. yeah try and do as much youraelf, oil change , level top ups etc, then get them to do something so they can stamp your book.
  22. i know exactly what you mean claire, i only managed 1 show last year as my car kept deciding it didn't want to go. now its happening again hopefully i'll get mine back in the next week!
