    that cant be a proper M3, or that vr6 is seriously tuned! an m3 would leave a vr standing, even a charged 1. could be a 328 which is why a charged vr pulled away

    not the stuff i ve got, its suitable for all types of filter. its a K&N filter recharger kit. i ve used it on paper and foam type, never caused a problem. and you will only get oil on the MAF if you over oil the filter

    i got a mate whos got a clio 172 cup and that weighs almost 250kg less than the golf!! tell you what tho you can definately tell you're in a french car, its 9 years newer than my golf but the golf still feels more solid

    the only difference between the 2.8 and 2.9 is bore and stroke. my obd1 golf vr6 made 184bhp stock, they usually seem to make slightly more power then vw figures. as for springs i ve just put a set of -30mm on that has made it look a whole lot better and stiffened it up slightly as well

    that'll be the carpi vr then!! now that IS a vr6 that a gtir will struggle to keep up with

    try the starter, i had the same problem on a peugeot gti and that turned out to be a bad connector on the starter, sorted that and it was fine

    there is no way a vr would pull away from a pulsar, unless the pulsar driver let the vr pull away! a vr would need some SERIOUS mods to get away from a pulsar. i raced an old skline (N reg) an R32 or what ever the older 1s are but it had to be a non turbo 1 cos i kept up with it, if it was turbo charged it would of left me for dust! maybe i under estimate the vr too much but anything like the pulsars, scoobys, evos infact most jap performance cars i leave alone!

    the pulsar is an incredable amount of fun and power for your money! doesnt have the german build quality nor the looks (no offence) but you dont buy them for that. if a gtir pulled up beside me i wouldnt even attempt to race it. personally i would love to own a pulsar despite their build quality and looks, its their reliabilty, tuneabilty and power that win me over!! fancy doin a swap its the insurance thats a killer

    95k miles - chains, tensioners and followers recently done. running nicely i was under the impression that low mileage vr's were extinct but there still seems to be a fair few around!

    i work with someone who had an RS tuned to 250bhp, that was a great car to drive.........then he went and part-ex'd it for a clio 172 cup!!!!!!! what a loser!

    i personally would go for the beemer, thinking it would be more comfortable and easier/nicer to drive (not meant in a sexist way)the beemer would be tammer than the R32.

    i think they are more restrictive than a bypass but anything is better than the standard cat.

    printed some off for the carpark where i work! cant believe some of the places people leave their cars. they're more abandoned than parked!!

    most oil manufacturer's seem to recommend 10/40 so i ve always stuck with that.

    i strongly agree monster. i was thinking about getting my old 1 tested but thats hassle. spoke to GSF today and they will supply an air mass meter for the later VR, 97-98 i think they said but they dont supply the older ones. whats the difference?

    does the mk5 sound much different from the mk4 in real life? on topgear i seem to remember the mk4 sounding just like the mk5.

    is that for a new 1 or a 2nd hand 1? im not sure about buying a second hand 1 as i could be buying 1 thats just as knackered.
