    i watched the repeat of topgear last night and i have to admit my opinion of the new R32 has changed a bit, i dont dislike it as much as i did. sounds awesome and looked loads better on topgears test track than the beemer did! still rather have the mk4 R32 tho.

    yeah cos i ve recently changed both the hall sensor and the engine speed sensor so i do hope it aint 1 of them playing up! cheers for your response guys. the car does idle rough but when driving its fine. its the fact that the air mass meter fault reads as short to earth so how the heck am i going to find where that fault is?

    thats only for obd2 isnt it? mines an obd1 so i guess it can only be done by vag com?

    i had my vr on vag com and it thru up 3 faults. they read as follows: 00281 027 road speed sender-G68 implausable signal 00522 027 sender for coolant temperature-G62 implausable signal sporadic 00553 029 air mass meter-G70 short to earth sporadic has anyone had any or all of these faults and know what a possible cause and cure could be? VW weren't very helpfull when i asked for some advice. ~ cheers guys

    that is odd. id go with head gasket as well. it doesnt take much water to create steam. run the engine with the cap off the filler bottle and look for lots of bubbles as the water returns from the engine, if the head gasket is gone you can get air locks in the water.

    the rear mount on mine had sticky fluid coming out of it so replaced that. didnt know what it was at the time but now im guessing it was hydraulic oil

    Well whats the joke???? Mine doesn't make me laugh just grin!!!! the heat soak! sure the sound is good but once its warm you can feel the power drop off.

    i think you do lose a bit of torque with the cams but you get more bhp further up the rev range i think?

    cheers. i ve lowered my vr on -30mm spings and the front still sits too high. the rear is fine but want to drop the front a bit more

    if the timing is out then really it needs to be completely checked and readjusted, theres no easy way round that. did you have upper and lower chains and tensioners done?

    u didnt leave your lights on did you? i noticed that if i leave the lights on on mine, even with the ignition off and the keys out that the pump still runs. switch the lights off and the pump stops.

    i ve never come across a car thats so sensitive to a dirty throttle body than a vr! at least its an easy fix. i really should do something with mine, after 93k miles i think it could do with it!

    that sounds great, i love it when they pop gearing down, specially with that exhaust! im gona have to do what you done with the induction kit!! did it just bolt straight on? very impressed mate good job well done.
