  1. You'd have to pay import duty at 2.7%, vat at 17.5% plus shipping which would be about £100 for a charger. American stuff fits. Well chargers do anyway. Not sure about turbo kits.
  2. Beru are the oe leads and are red, costing about £120. I think VW/GSF do a cheaper set for about £60. There are other alternatives like blue igniters and magnecor for around £80.
  3. FI is the only way for serious power. Supercharger or Turbo for 260+ hp/240+ lbft. This figure is guaranteed. If you go for the schrick vgi, 268 cams, enlarged TB, big valve head and induction combination, the maximum power you'll ever see would be 230 hp/240 lbft. This figure is just a guide. FI, supercharging in particular will give you most power for your money. [ Edited Tue Nov 30 2004, 10:39PM ]

  5. Buy one s/h vgi off vwvortex classifieds. There's a nice one on now for $900. That's only £480, some 268 cams for $500 (£260) and an enlarged TB £120. Add a remap. All for under £1300.
  6. The crank sensor is big money though. If it was completely shot the car wouldn't start at all so it's worth checking the wiring and cleaning it first before comitting to a new part as it might be a poor contact.
  7. If you go through QMR, your order might arrive quicker as C2 have a lot of orders to deal with but they might give priority to orders from QMR being one of their main suppliers. If your buying direct from C2, you'll have to call them , as they have a massive backlog of e-mailed orders.
  8. I've just got one from C2 Motorsports (ordered through QMR Motorsports). The 8-9 psi pulley (3.12") costs about $90.
  9. Here's the link: www.mmm-five.net/Corrado/corrado.html
  10. Big valve head. There's a well known corrado with schrick cams, vgi, schrick bvh, enlarged TB and rechip knocking out 230 bhp and 240 lbft.
  11. I would have thought the bvh would have given a lot more torque but maybe it has to be coupled with a vgi to make the most of the extra air the vgi pulls in.
  12. Check for play in the impeller and the condition of the cogged teeth on the impeller pulley but if it has been rebuilt the bearings and pullies are usually changed so it should be fine. It should also have a new 12 month factory warranty having been rebuilt. These kit cost £2000 new so I think £1350 would be a reasonable offer.
  13. It's probably worth £1200-400 with a chip. If it hasn't got a chip I would give about £1000-200 for it as remapping isn't cheap.
  14. If you can get off the mark I'd say you'd have a good chance of beating a TT. I left a 225 TT surprisingly easily with just a k@n + 2.9 and they can't compete with a charged vr either.
  15. 9 mins 15 secs actually, recorded between the gantries on the final straight.
  16. there are some good pics here: www.venommotorsports.com/library/SchrickVGI268.asp
  17. tyres, camber angles /tracking, cold gearbox oil is one thing. I suppose some v. slippery gearbox oil would help.
  18. You can mix g11 and g12+ but not g11 with g12 afaik. [ Edited Wed Nov 17 2004, 12:24AM ]
  19. I've been out in a teg-r and it felt pathetic low down and not much better high up. It's still small displacement engine and it feels like it next to a vr6. The handling did feel excellent though, but a corrado vr6 is too so I'd consider a rado, then you can have the best of both worlds.
  20. Guy Hartley has a vf kit on his rado with air-con fitted.
  21. That's right Minty and you haven't even seen their premises. Installation isn't a problem, any cack-handed mechanic can do it. Maybe I should start an installation service
