  1. It's worth cleaning the sensors first as they are magnetic and attract a lot of crud.
  2. he speaks the truth m8 charger is the best mod BUT will cost way over 1k the schrick just dbls the vr grin A charger sold recently on ebay for under £900. I bought mine for £950.
  3. An uprated headlight loom costs about £30
  4. check the fuel pump relay! No. 109 I think.
  5. I'd go for a CAI which will give you the sound and extra power.
  6. Ok. I know this is off topic but what plugs are you s/c peeps running? [ Edited Sat Feb 19 2005, 08:01PM ]
  7. how do you pay for stuff off German ebay? Do you need an international bank no. to transfer money?
  8. Yes, it's a brand new dayco belt. I think Geasb asked me first but if he doesn't want to buy it, you can have it.
  9. The ZR is louder in operation (but silent at idle) but the vortech, makes a nice whistle at idle and makes a high pitched whine when revved. I find it's much smoother than the Z because of internal gearing but tbh I'd be happy with either.
  10. I'm not sure that Z-Eng have gone bust but have been taken over by there parent company Ruf. There are still loads of these chargers about so parts must still be available. NS Racing (Nik Saran is the founder of VF-Eng) and Stealth must have an agreement to sell VF-Eng (Vortech) chargers so can't sell another rival companies products. Consequently Z-Eng have suffered through the dominance of VF and Vortech chargers in the supercharger marketplace.
  11. I thought the VW headset (includes the head gasket, intake gaskets, rocker gasket, exhaust gaskets, valve stems etc.) was about £80 and the headbolts were about £50. £530? That can't be right.
  12. The zr2 only runs about 7 psi so you don't need to lower compression. If you lower compression as VRmonster says, you'll need a smaller pulley to get the same power as the standard pulley gives on stock compression.
  13. You want the mrk 4 upper tensioner and bolt: Late type top tensioner pad - 021 109 509E Late type Tensioner Plunger (bolt) - 021 109 507B
  14. H@R are better as eibach give a v. harsh ride.
  15. 1. You can use it with a Schrick Vgi or standard manifold. 256, 248 or stock cams would work well an s/c. Cams are more for mid range torque than peak power. 2. Stage 1 (6 psi) should give 250-270 hp, 230-240 lb ft torque. Perhaps a bit more with vgi, cams and a remap. 3. They are pretty reliable. I've covered 30k miles with no issues.
  16. no. I meant what lift and duration as in 248, 256, 264 etc.
  17. remove the isv, spray with carb cleaner and lighly oil with 3 in 1. Could be the blue temp sensor making it run a bit too rich at cold start.
  18. Sounds like it could be the fan ecu/control box has gone on the blink or possibly something simpler like the thermostat. Check the fuse and change the thermoswitch first.
