  1. I've heard the rado manifold is not as good as the 2.8 for low down torque but flows better at high revs. Does the performance/acceleration feel better with the rado manifold and TB?
  2. Buy the bearings from any SKF bearing supplier such as BSL. Part no.6203-2RS1
  3. You can buy new bearings for the tensioner pulley for about £6.
  4. I'm pretty sure they don't have part numbers and would be v. difficult to find. You could buy some ordinary samcos (two 90 degree 80mm elbows and a 45 degree) would probably fit.
  5. I don't think it's that bad. Changing the gearbox oil will improve the shift, changing the bushes on the shifter might help or using a different counterweight.
  6. If the bearings are worn they will need to be replaced as greasing them won't stop the pulley from seizing eventually.
  7. Corrado vr6 TB's are fairly rare but you can have yours enlarged for £125 I've got a spare 2.9 manifold if your interested? This goes well with the TB as it has a larger plenum than the 2.8 manifold.
  8. Koni ta's and h@r springs is the best setup as you get a stiffer chassis whilst retaining decent ride quality. H@r springs are specifically designed to handle the vr6's heavy nose.
  9. You can run without it if you take the pcv valve off and block off the vaccum line to the neck of the intake manifold. I haven't got one on mine as I've removed the carbon canister and pcv valve and it runs fine.
  10. Paypal is sh*te. If someone buys something off you (say an ebay item), you send it to them but then they say they haven't received the item, and place a dispute they can get the the money back from paypal. They can dispute it up to 45 days after the transaction too. There is also the issue of using fraudulent credit cards to pay for goods. Paypal doesn't protect the seller. If you do accept paypal, make sure you send stuff recorded delivery as a tracking number is proof of postage and if things go wrong there will be some comeback. On valueable items only accept bank transfers, cheques (cleare
  11. do collins do rolling road chip tuning then or do they give you a chip and hope for the best? [ Edited Mon Jan 31 2005, 08:22PM ]
  12. How does an off-the -shelf chip work properly with a schrick?
  13. are collins mapping a chip for the car or just installing a chip?
  14. Hi, I got a computer guy to do mine. It isn't a hard job and doesnt require much expertise. He did it for free btw. I think tuning companies in the UK such as Stealth Racing will know some competent people who can do the job.
  15. The thottle body also faces the other side so the airbox is on the righthand side.
  16. I've got two for 1/2 inch hose. PM me if your interested. [ Edited Mon Jan 24 2005, 07:11PM ]
  17. Sounds like a sticky idle stabiliser valve, a common vr problem. Remove it, give it a clean with carb cleaner, then a light oiling with 3 in 1 then it should be ok.
  18. Here's the link, stumbled across it the other day: Just realised it's not the full version ~ www.z-engineeringusa.com/mk3vr6.pdf [ Edited Fri Jan 21 2005, 04:29PM ]
  19. Put a boost guage onto the inlet manifold (I think Minty was seeing about 6.5 psi at peak power) Check that all your pipework is clamped up properly. Jules had a similar problem (was only seeing about 220 hp) before remapping, but after mapping was making 270 hp. I was browsing the net and found the complete Z-Eng installation /maintainance instructions in pdf format. I'll post the link.
  20. My zr2/2.9 put out 275bhp/241 lbft torque so power should be in that kind of area. That was on the supplied Z-chip too. You might be running the wrong chip, your maf's dead or you've got boost leaks.
  21. Schrick is a German company which makes performance engine parts for vws and other manufacturers. They mainly manufacture camshafts but also make a variable intake manifold for vr6 engines called a vgi. Check out: www.drschrick.de
