  1. Going around my Highline with a fine toothed comb over the weekend, and i have found all this that needs doing. I have: 1 tiny bubble of rust on drivers rear arch 1 very tiny bubble just in front of the same arch (caused by a stone chip i think) 2-3 very small bubbles on the tailgate flaking paint on the front bumper obvious stone chips on the bonnet (although nothing too major, only about 4-5 chips and some bad touch ups) Rust on both sill tops, drivers side quite bad, passenger's not so. Now, i am looking at keeping hold of this car for a few years now so i should hopefully be able to thr
  2. All the best for both of you! Good luck!
  3. i'm sure mine is rivetted on the slam panel too........ We're not 100% sure on the cost of having it done, as nothing ahs been confirmed, but rumours are in the region of £30-£40. My Corrado one was done bit at a time, and took me about 7 months!! Then i sold the car!! lol
  4. OK, well i'm M5 junction 7. We'll need to sort a time at some point, but if you come off at that junction and drive round the roundabout, i'll be waiting on the side of the road. Sound good?
  5. Synta silver here as i was always led to believe that gold is too thin. Just given mine the first oil change since i've had it, and the oil was really dirty. Thinking of changes every 5k ish from now.
  6. I did my Corrado one myself, very similar to Justins first attempt. Still took a fair bit of work though! I ran though various grades of aluminium oxide paper, then onto various grades of wet and dry, anding with 1500 grit. Then gave it a good buff up with the Autosol. Took about 60 hours i reckon, with it fitted to the car. Needless to say, it's highly unlikely that i'll be doing this one myself. I was going to, but it looks like we have found a reasonably priced polisher to do it instead!
  7. OK, are you doing M5, M42, M40, or are you heading a different way?
  8. drag this back from the doldrums, as i missed it before! The 20VT conversion is apparently one of the easiest, but people would say that. I believe the plug and play loom and ECu that was in PVW was a bit farsical. Yeah, it makes things easy, but from what i understand, it was basically an identical loom to the DTA, but with a plug where the DTA ends in 4 wires.......also comes with an apparently remappable Peugeot ECU. I think i'd probably prefer the DTA personally as people seem to have had good results, and it saves the need for the 20vt guages etc. I think the engine is a simple bolt i

    colour?

not sure on the clours exactly, but i have heard the Highlines referred to as all of those. Not quite sure on the official stance of it though. As for the oil, i always use Quantum Synta silver in mine. Just given it an oil change and its sounding very quiet now!
  12. Cheers for your help guys, but i've actually been offered a loan of one from Pete. Thanks for your help though, and thanks to Pete for offering to lend me one!
  13. ..........OBD2 inlet manifold? Obviously now so many of you have got Schricks, there must be a few floating about. I'm after a loan of one to put on my car to keep it running when i polish up my existing one. No rush for it, but is there one around?? Cheers
  14. aint that the one that got beaten by the 1600 Fiat hire car on the fifth gear sprint???
  15. i'm leaving from Worcester on the day. I know it ain't Bristol or Gloucester, but if you want i can meet you and take you the way i go.......
  16. Had mine since mid September and so far........ £4k for the car £265 for exhaust £31 for oil/filter/coolant £21 for new plugs £46 for new plates/surrounds Thats it! Need to spend a chunk on cabling for the ICE, and a couple of pairs of speakers. Also could do with replacing the auxiliary belt and tensioner.

Southam Autobodies in Warwick would be my recommendation. That's where mine will go when i can afford it. He's been recommeded to me by many people as maybe not the cheapest, but defintely one of the most particular.
  18. Nothing wrong with OBD1's on a day to day basis, although, again, i thought all Highlines were OBD2...... Anyway, like has been said, the ISV could need a flush out sometime but otherwise i have noticed next to no differences between the MK3 and the Corrado lump. Although the Corrado was OBD1 it had an OBD2 style diagnostic port, maybe the Golf would be the same...???
  19. Carrera GT followed closely by the Enzo, then the GT3. If it had to be semi sensible, the DB9 and if i wanted a "normal" car, the Monaro.
  20. Excellent idea Pete, can't think of any better reason to join! I'm now a premium member at last!
  21. if there's still room then a mate wants to come along. He's got a MK3 1.4 Match, but is interested in what it's kicking out and is well up for the laugh. Is there room?
  22. i would probably have a Monaro. Like they said onTop Gear, it may be badged a Vauxhall, and may be shit build quality inside, but it's a beast.
  23. i'm on one of those Free ones! You know, one of those ones where you pay depending on how much you use it, and you get a funny squealing/buzzing everytime you start to connect. You must remember that type of connection, surely...............
  24. aye, same bottle! Just keep your fingers crossed that the pipe's not split.........
