The Smiths family had no children and decided to use a proxy father to start their Family. On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife and said, ''I'm off. The man should be here soon." Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer rang the doorbell, hoping to make a sale. ''Good morning, madam. You don't know me but I've come to....'' ''Oh, no need to explain. I've been expecting you,'' Mrs. Smith cut in. ''Really?'' the photographer asked. ''Well, good! I've made a speciality of babies.'' ''That's what my husband and I had hoped. Please com

Killer Biscuits Wanted for Attempted Murder (the actual AP Headline) Lisa Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego, was visiting her in-laws, and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries.Several people noticed her sitting in her car with the windows rolled up and with her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head. One customer who had been at the store for a while became concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed that Lisa's eyes were now open and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was okay, and Lisa replied that she'd been shot in the bac

Joe and John were identical twins. Joe owned an old dilapidated boat and kept pretty much to himself. One day he rented out his boat to a group of out-of-staters who ended up sinking it. He spent all day trying to salvage as much stuff as he could from the sunken vessel and was out of touch all that day and most of the evening. Unbeknownst to him, his brother John's wife had died suddenly in his absence. When he got back on shore he went into town to pick up a few things at the grocery. A kind old woman there mistook him for John and said, "I'm so sorry for your loss. You must feel terrible."

Fiday night, My Caddy Died and gone to diesel heaven....
28v6r replied to 28v6r's topic in General Chat
Well, I'm a lucky Bunny ....Yet again! Turns out I got a new engine free of charge from the dealers, admittedly it was a new head and a short block from another as there wasn't an engine available in the short time available! Now it runs as sweet as a peach! P.S We are talking Caddy vans here right?? and not the MK1 Pickup?? Regards 28v6r -
He...He....He..... Firstly, thanks to all for the support especially seeing as I'm UE at the mo and can't afford anything drastic on this one , but as you can tell I'm a happy bunny and a new ticket for another year for the pricely sum of 20 notes!!! !amazed !amazed What's more the ABS didn't light up, and according to their software no faults were found...YIPPPEEEE!!! !amazed New ABS sender fitted just the same, on the drivers side, and the light has stayed out so far..... 8o) Thanks all.... A Happy Bunny!!! Regards 28v6r

Relay???? ...Where did you here that it was £35 a pop then?? !dodge The fuel relay is only £17! and my guess is that its that , that's causing your problems, it's the bottom right relay, that nearest the drivers door, grey in colour marked 167. Hence the need for shock i.e "slamming your door" to activate it. This is a known failure and causes your vehicle to stall due to overheating (The relay, that is!) 8o) as to the ABS, I'm in the same boat, mine runs for ages, then will come on as if something has got too hot, switch off the ignition and it will reset itself. Will keep you advise

Yeah ...it would if it was there, but I took the liberty of relieving you of the instrument pod last night, seeing as yours was working better than mine! !amazed 8o) Regards 28v6r

Alrighty then.... My temp guage sits a bit funny at the moment, The car is a Passat with a Triple A engine so it may be a little different from all you "Short wheelbase Passats", but when the car is in traffic it climbs to just above the halfway mark, never near the top, but certainly 1/2 to 3/4's on the guage, the fans kick in and the guage returns to the centre. When travelling the the temp guage drops to under the half mark, maybe say at a third of the guage and no more, mind you that is around the 80mph speed. Now my questions are these.... 1/ Does your guage do this "At All"?? 2/Could it

Boo Hooo **Sob** On Friday night my Caddy rolled over and died, See, I put her in for a new diesel injection pump to be fitted. So they "Alledgedly" set the pump timing on it. From there on, the problem arose .... The van started to "pink" (If thats possible?? %-6 ) I returned to the garage straight away, only to be advised that the pump was brand new and that it was "probably just bedding in!" and to drive it for 200 miles and advise. 200 miles???? It lasted 69 miles before No1 dropped a valve and wrecked the head and possible engine. The engine that was in had only covered 14k miles, as i

And coat the coil pack in silicone grease.... It acts as an insulator and stops arcing.

I'd also look at a failing coil pack, normal on idle but misfire under load. Usually thats a sign that the coil is failing.... had this on my bimmer twice!! and on a volvo once. Look for an known coil pack that work OK and replace and see if it cures it before purchasing a new one...I think GSF will do one for £145, not sure though can't remember:-( Regards 28v6r

No danger there then:-) Once SPOTLESS, working the door etc, lubricate the door with some 3in1 oil and reinstall. Now moving further along, look at the throttle body, it's held on by 4 10mm bolts. Remove the throttle body and clean the butterfly until spotless and again lubricate. Now there's a thin paper gasket between the flanges, it's 40p so replace that as well, When reassembled don't panic if the revs are erratic, it takes a little time for the ECU to reset to the "Alledgedly" new valve, It will settle, and your throttle response will be crisper. Try that and see how you go, you may find
