Hmmm... I could nick along if your interested, as yer only along the road, as I thought...Only If yer Interested that Is??? 8o) acf8181... Is there not a bleed screw located near the pump?? I'm guessing here, as I haven't had a look at mine or the VAG manual recently... another way of doing this would be to jack the nose of the car up as high as possible, the higher the better and run with the cap off the bubbles should in theory go to the highest point i.e the expansion tank, at the same time your forcing coolant into the Heater matrix and block. If the level drops any then you know you've

Typical.... You never ask the right people do you?? There is a Refurb place in Cambuslang, Glasgow that will machine, true up, paint etc for around £25 per wheel....And the comeback as new, if not better than, also you can change the colour to what ever you fancy. He's been there for around 30 years and does a superb job. My mate had his done for his Scooby and you couldn't tell he'd been there!! The answer is yes before you ask, he does remove the wheel from the tyre and refit + balance when finished. Look up wheel refurb on Yell.com there you will find it and the guy is very helpful! Also

Sounds more like the Idle Stabilisation Valve needs cleaned out or that you may have a vacuum leak somewhere. Go for the latter first and check using Carb Cleaner (Available from Halfords) and spray on all the hoses from the air intake. If there is a leak then the Idle will pick up Slightly as the cleaner is a richer source of fuel. Next, Clean the Idle valve located under the shroud and behind No1. Clean well with the same until spotless then lubricate with some 3 in 1 oil. Refit the valve. Now!! DON'T PANIC AT THE NEXT PART... The Idle will go higher than normal for a time as it recalibrates

Errrmm Not so, My Passat change is rather Slick and it's a cable change, what may help the change is Synthetic gearbox oil, better when the box is cold, prevents premature wear etc longer between changes BUT be warned it's not cheap @ around the £35 - 40 per gallon, but hey! it's well worth it, AND IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! A nice slick change prevails!!! Regards 28v6r

Yeah, Try the Volvo owners board... There's someone gettin' flamed every day or so!! Who would believe it Eh? Just goes to show whats under the Pringle jumper and Cravate then Eh???? Regards 28v6r -
Hi Steve, My guess then is that you change your oil at less than the regular intervals i.e say every 3-4k miles then?? No Bad thing there then! Regards 28v6r
-
Provided the grade of oil is the same i.e 10w/40 to 10w/40 (example) then yes you could mix the oils. Personally I'd say that the Magnatec is a better oil than the Synta, So I'd go for that one but it's up to you... as stated make sure the grades are the same and genuine filters are used only. Hi Shani, 1/ Mackies is Based in Glasgow, on London Rd. Look up yell.com under Automatic Gearbox specialists, They should be able to sell you the parts for a rebuild. 2/ The clutch plates should come in a repair pack and be available for your local guy to fit . I'm Told that it's relatively easy for the competent Mechanic to install BUT NOT FOR THE DIY'ER So don't try this at home boys n'gals!! Failing that, Look around Diss for a chap working on his own called Jeremy Lear, He used to beable to put his hands on Autos reeeeeaaaall Easy and for the pricely sum of £400 notes!!! Good Luck!! Yer a wicked Man ...with a monicur like that on the end of yer mail!! :-) Nice seats though look the part, well worth a **sniff**. Once bought use Gliptone or Leatherique to restore them as new, use a latex glove to work in the feed/revitaliser as it forces the leather to absorb more...then sit back, relax and enjoy the smell of leather!! (I'm Jealous already!!!) :-) Nice one Buddie!! Good on yer!! Regards 28v6r

Another poiter that may be causing the problem is the Micro switch inside the door, I haven't looked into mine yet , but I'm reliably told that they have a NASTY part to play in the operation of the doors/windows. Not figured that one out yet but it maybe worth a look:-) Regards28v6r -
