  1. Yes, it's a very common problem. Do a search for "Crankase Breather" on this forum and you'll see various solutions. Getting the complete breather pipe from Ford (for a Galaxy VR6 up to 1998) seems to be the preferred option.
  2. Yeah, I'll see if I can make it for 8:15 too
  3. Yes, it is a genuine VW Motorsport VSR Manifold. One of only 500 made. The "VW Motorsport VSR" logos that you usually see on these actually goes on a polished aluminium plate that glues to the top of the casting (the part that says "Pierburg"), Yes, it will work with a 2.9 TB. In fact, it will fit any OBD1 VR6 engine. It needs about 500 quid's worth of fabrication work doing to get it operational. I'm still thinking of getting the work done and installing it in the cabrio, but I am getting sooo tempted to fit a s/c instead!

I am likin' that mirror screen. Great for a stealth install!!!
  5. I've got this, if you're interested: But it needs some work.
  6. Yes, Rib is having some problems with his phone line at the moment and is trying to get NTL to sort it out. I'm sure Rob will post here as soon as his land line is up and running again.
  7. Nice!!!! All the right mods in all the right places.
  8. Took the car to see uncle Vince today. As well as sorting my fuel leak, he had a look at the 312mm front brakes I just fitted. The Discs were the correct ones, and did, in fact locate on the hubs, but only by about 1mm. This is not what was causing all the scraping noises. The noise was caused by the backing plates rubbing against the inside of the thicker discs. Bending the backing plates back did not resolve the problem, so they had to be removed completely. Vince said this is a common problem when fitting larger brakes on Golfs and that he almost always has to remove the stock backing p
  9. I dreamed about mine getting nicked & vandalised a couple of times.
  10. You'd probably need some heavy arch work to fit them, but they would look the absolute nads! I actually quite like the Audi A8 rims. They look lovely on Mk4s.
  11. Jetex always have been quiet systems. Remember, the only way you can really hear the difference in exhaust note is from OUTSIDE the car. If you want a bit more noise in the cabin, an induction kit is the way to go.
  12. Sounds like a simple breakdown in communication and nothing which can't be resolved. I hope they get it sorted soon. Demand remains high for these kits.
  13. Yes, NTL are hopeless. I've never heard a good word said about them. When something goes wrong, and you call their helpdesk, you may as well be talking to a chimp. No - correction - a chimp would have better manners.
  14. Thanks for the positive comments, guys! More pics to follow soon!
  15. Looks very tidy. Enjoy the creamy, smooth VR power!!
  16. Glad they managed to sort it out for you. Looks like a good job too. I love those wheels BTW. If you EVER decide to sell them, promise me you'll call me first!!!!
  17. Yes, the pump and ECU are seperate - the ECU is usually located under the rear seat on the right hand side. Surely if wiggling a wire makes the light go on or off, that points to a wiring fault? Or maybe there is a bad contact in the wiring connector on the pump. What fault codes was it showing?
  18. Ahh, I thought it was for the RR day. Never mind!
  19. There seem to be two different types of OEM catalytic converter out there for the Golf VR6, one being about 6 inches longer than the other. This might be the reason for your fitting problems. I'm not sure whether it's OBD1/OBD2 thing. I'll post some pics of the different cats later to show what I mean.

The following thread shows a fixed screen done in a Mk3. Centre console location is a bit too low down to be useful for sat nav etc. , but looks good for shows.... http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1571761
  21. Are you gonna be keeping the yellow? If so, I have a set of yellow Samco hoses that you might be interested in. They don't match my colour scheme so well and I'm planning to replace them with blue ones....

The Mk4 has a double-DIN stereo aperture, which means that a fixed screen (rather than a pop-out) can be used. I've seen the install you mention and it looks awesome: My next mota is gonna be an Mk4 R32 and my dash will look exactly like this.
  23. I think this explains why Ultimatetune have not ordered any more kits from C2. It does not explain, however, why he has fallen out of contact with the paid Customers. Maybe he's seeking legal advice.
