  1. Yes, the problem with your wipers could be the relay. It's probably easiest to check this first. Just get a second hand wiper relay from a breakers and try that. Agreed with Pete on mods, the first area to look at on any mk3 is the suspension. Koni shocks with Eibach springs are a good choice, or Koni coilovers if you want height adjustment. I'm sure members on here will recommend lots of other makes too!

    led's

Never seen those before. They look more BMW than Lexus to me. Have you got a pic of them on the car?
  3. Agreed. Suspension should always be the first thing done on any VR. Add a vibra-technics front engine mount and a BMC CDA filter and you'll have a car which is way quicker point-to-point. Going beyond this, my recommendation is to get a large piggy bank, write "supercharger fund" on the side of it and start saving....
  4. I believe the air con controller just plugs into an input on the existing ECU. It ups the idle speed when the air con is turned on.
  5. a) depends how quickly you got to it. Brake fluid can take off paint pretty rapidly. You might get away with just having to T-cut the affected area. I would inform the Police. If only to cover yourself if he comes back and does something else. You may be able to get a restraining order placed on him.

    Fuckers

Often, hit and run drivers aren't insured at all. The Government and Police are doing nothing to stop these poeple, more interested in zapping people doing 34mph on urban main roads for quick cash.
  7. With the Ultimatetune/C2 thing sounding pretty dead, I'd say there will almost certainly be a VF-E supercharger group buy from NS Racing going on next year.
  8. A 33k VR6? That's a damn good find. I doubt there are many left with that sort of mileage! There is a huge contingent of Dub enthusiasts in Essex and there are numerous meets in the area - watch the "South East Regional Meets" forum for details.
  9. Aftermarket exhausts improve the looks and sound but don't do a great deal for BHP. The standard exhaust, despite being ugly, is actually quite efficient! A cold air induction kit, AMD rebored throttle body and an ECU remap should see at least 190BHP. Add some 268 cams to the mix and you should definitely be on the right side of 200BHP.
  10. I think we should start doing these twice a year, there certainly looks like there's enough demand!
  11. More pics of the finished article. Enjoy! 12. I have RR vids of VR6Turbo and Girlyracer's cars. I'll post the links in this forum soon.
  13. Great event and a really good turnout!! There was some real quality on show today. The EIP stage 2 turbo VR was awesome - total Q car. Nice!! Shame I never got to run the cabrio. Didn't want to risk it with no towing eye for Vince to hold the car down with!!! I'll make sure it's sorted for the next one! I took a few pics, which can be viewed here: http://photobucket.com/albums/a174/antera309/VR6OC%20RR%20Day%202005 Have a great Christmas everyone!!
  14. Oh Ja. Very nice!! Bet it goes as good as looks too.
  15. Haynes Manual Translations Haynes: Disconnect battery negative terminal before starting work Translation: Why? I only want to fill the washer bottle. Haynes: Rotate anticlockwise. Translation: Clamp with visegrips then beat repeatedly with hammer anticlockwise. Haynes: This is a snug fit. Translation: Clamp with visegrips then beat repeatedly with hammer. Haynes: This is a tight fit. Translation: Clamp with visegrips then beat repeatedly with a hammer. Haynes: As described in Chapter 7... Translation: That'll teach you not to read through before you start. Now you are looking at scary
  16. Yeah - no clones please!! LOL!! Are you coming to the RR day, VRMOnster?
  17. Yes, they also prevent road water getting splashed up onto the discs. With the 312mm brakes they wouldn't have been any good in this capacity anway, as they are smaller than the discs!! I'll keep an eye out for some TT backplates. Good to have solved the problem, anyway!
  18. I quite like the heatshield too. On a smooth back end, you need something to break it up. You could always cover it with carbon fibre-effect film, or spray it vinyl black for a more OEM look, if you wanted to.
  19. Replacing the rad will be much easier if you take the front of the car off. This is not as difficult as it sounds and it beats slicing up your hands!
  20. Agreed with the others, sounds like a ploy to beat down your asking price. A dodgy MAF sensor usually results in "juddery" power delivery at mid-high revs due to insufficient fuelling. If this was happening, you'd know about it. A brief rattling from the tappets is normal on a VR6 when the engine is cold. This is simply because the starter motor doesn't turn the engine fast enough to fully pressurise the tappets before the engine fires. Small starter, big engine. Nothing to worry about.
  21. Stays in the middle most of the time for me too.
  22. The speedo on a VR6 is run off an electrical sensor attached to the gearbox final drive. There is a 3-pin electrical connector on the engine bay wiring loom which plugs into this sensor. Check that the connector is securely connected to the sensor. The sensor is on the top of the final drive (the bit where where the driveshafts connect to the gearbox). It's almost directly below the electric water pump.
  23. I've just fitted one of these, along with a Milltek exhaust. Other than a corrado throttle body & K&N panel filter, these are the only mods. We'll see how much power it makes at the RR day this Sunday. I'll be sure to post the results.
