  1. Very nice. The recommendations for PF Autos just keep on coming! Like your plate too!!
  2. I'll be there. Wouldn't miss it for the world!
  3. OK, there's no need for mudslinging here, Gents. We all know that views expressed here are personal opinions and that's all. Everyone has misunderstandings & disagreements with suppliers and mechanics from time to time. 99 times out of 100 it is better to attempt to resolve such disputes with the supplier/mechanic directly before leaving "negative feedback" on Internet forums. The facts are this - "Doing the chains" means replacing ALL of the following parts: 1) Upper chain. 2) Upper chain guide. 3) Upper chain tensioner plate. 4) Upper chain tensioner bolt. 5) Lower chain. 6) Lower cha
  4. Thank you all for being so patient. The modifications to the membership database are almost complete and we should be able to start processing memberships again on Tuesday/Wednesday this week.
  5. The 5-door seats have the tilt mechanism in them already. All you need to do is cut a hole in the side and fit the tilt handle.
  6. Jap styling looks terrible on Golfs. End of.
  7. I do like the colour. Would look good on a cabrio... hmmmm.
  8. Sounds like multipoint is the way to go. I wonder how well it would work with other mods like cams & Schrick manifolds?
  9. Mulberry would look pretty damn good on a Rallye. Keep it OEM!!!
  10. The Government wouldn't be spending all this money if they didn't expect to see a return on their investment. The only question is how. As well as the fingerprint & retina scan, other biometric information will be read by the camera (such as distance between eyes, nose & mouth, skin colour etc) to allow surveillance cameras to identify you on sight. No doubt this capability will be used to enforce petty laws just like speed cameras & parking cameras do with our car registrations right now. An automatic £60 fine in the post for dropping litter, spitting in the street or walking o
  11. You need 205/40/17 Tyres on a mk3. Wheels should fit as long as the bolt pattern is 5x100.
  12. How long are the Highline sill strips, end to end? That's on a 3 door car. I'd like to have a go at fitting some of these to the cabrio.
  13. Happy birthday Claire, and welcome to the 30's club!!! LOL
  14. If the front AND rear are both doing it, my first suspect would be the switch. Steering column stalk assemblies are plentiful at scrapyards and are easy to fit as long as you're OK with taking the steering wheel off.
  15. Timing Chain tensioner disintegrated causing the upper chain to jump a tooth. I think I got away without any bent valves, but it can't be run now until the chains are replaced. It's the final straw for that damned Friday engine. I'm on the lookout for a well-treated 2.9 lump now.
  16. Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it. My engine is fooked.
  17. Exhaust leaks can make a ticking sound at certain resonating frequencies. It's worth checking the exhaust system (including the manifold) for leaks before you start taking your engine apart!
  18. A serious track day weapon. Yes please!
  19. I do a 70 mile round trip to work every day in mine. It's virtually all motorway, which is one of the main reasons I chose a VR6 engine over a 1.8T.
  20. This problem has been reported a LOT on the Corrado-Net forum www.the-corrado.net/forum . The vast majority turned out to be immobiliser faults. Of the rest, the ignition switch and the Fuel Pump relay have been the most common causes.
  21. Yep, definitely a cat replacement pipe. The guy probably had the car MOT'd just before selling it to you and took it off for that!
