We'll I think its about time I started a build thread since I've been on here a couple of years now and my mk3 has been on the road for about 6 months lol. Here goes. I bought the car as a project back in Christmas 2011 with the title on gumtree being Golf VR6 in need of tlc. Thought I would stick up a progress thread for my mystic blue 5 door. Having searched for a while for a project car I decided on a vr6. No luck finding one anywhere then one popped up on gum tree for 450 as needing work for mot. After making a quick call turns out I knew the seller and got it for 300. This is how it stood.

Looks really good hopefully I can get mine to look as tidy as yours.

Thing is if I go I will end up looking at audi's and want a s4 estate

when your battery has been disconnected it will do a throttle body alignment when you put ignition on, if your bonnet is popped you will hear the stepper motor on the throttle body making noises as it "does stuff" once the noises have stopped you can then start the car. it takes about 10 - 20 seconds to complete.
