I've also got a lot of toe in on the rear. Which is strange. So will take it all off and put some camber shims in.

Also bought this. Vr6 full leather. Not sure if going to drive it or break it yet.

Anyway the mk2....

Strut brace is something we tried to sort for ud but couldn't get it sorted intime.

null_zpsbb705979.jpg

It's been welded up at one end, with a top fill at other end.

Coolant expansion tank as the top fill wasn't working for me. Just need to sort out hoses now as the heater is going too.

Thanks.

Cleaned the mk3

Fitted a deep splitter

Here it is at stealth.

null_zpsa0fbdf91.jpg

Made 189 at the flywheel which isn't bad at all as there is no mods!

Mk2 arches have been rolled and pulled

null_zps8e50e643.jpg

Had to do the painful thing and fit the standard coolant tank back in as I just couldn't get it right with the strut brace.

Here is a video of it from exhaust. Not much of a fan this exhaust makes.

Big update time.

I will just let the pictures do the talking

Unfortunately it's not a happy update lol

Mk3 decided it didn't want too grip anymore so I bent the rear axle.

null_zps30bfd247.jpg

So it's up on axle stands now until I can find a rear axle.

The mk2 decided it would work for a short time, even drove it too work.

null_zps3e828af3.jpg

But then everything went wrong

I had too strip it all down to do the headgasjet

null_zps6e59963b.jpg

Who ever built the engine didn't do a very good job. The head bolts were not torqued up evenly. The one closest too cylinder 3 wasn't even threaded in correctly as they decided too tighten them up with a torx instead of the correct Allen key. A picture will show that later. Also the exhaust studs, three were m10, the rest were m8 and two were missing.

You can see from the soot on the manifold where it wasn't sealing properly. And you can see that it definitely hasn't been running properly.

null_zps16544ac5.jpg

This was used for the top chain guide, it should be a hex bolt and not an over tightened half rounded Cap head.

null_zps5fa98081.jpg

This was the arp head stud that wasn't threaded in correctly into the block.

null_zps40081f86.jpg

A call too my good friend at Tps and with a new chain guide and a lot of genuine bolts I started too put it back together

null_zps81a7b585.jpg

New oil pressure sensors. Old vs. new

null_zps33a93e2f.jpg

Built it all back up the day before inters..

null_zps91abe735.jpg

Then, started it up, it went bang.. This happened

null_zpsbf4782f1.jpg

null_zps983e1bd9.jpg

Bent an exhaust valve. Turns out that the chain sprocket had come off the cam so one cam had turned while the other had stayed still which is why only one valve is bent. Bit of a bummer but at least I can rebuild it all again properly and get everything repowdercoated like i wanted too.

New chain tensioner with the proper bolts.

null_zpsb472f8ae.jpg

And now it's left like this while I get the head rebuilt.

null_zpsa31b1248.jpg

I'm also on the lookout for a vr6 engine. Mileage and condition doesn't really matter as its being taken apart anyway.

Thanks
