Haha. Probably around that time aswell I went into the main agents and they told me there was 7 left in the agents in the U.K. That was was on a Friday after work. I went back on the Monday to pay for 2 (£125.00 each plus VAT) and they were gone.
I was fuming with myself. Haha. Never thought they'd be gone over the weekend.
I have a contact in Germany who I still get Genuine parts off and he told me at one point vw there were going to do another big batch of wings but the order was called off by one of the big wigs.

So I bought a pair off vw parts international and put them away should ever I need them.

Sadly genuine wings are non existent across the globe. As@D1BBZ says vw parts international do still have some. I think they bought the last batch made from Germany.

    Evening Guys,

With the ever rising success of this show, I've booked a club stand for the full weekend for the club.
They will only allow us 10 cars so even though its a while away i'm taking names for a place on our club stand.

To avoid disappointment get your name down early. This is a show not to be missed. Many a member will vouch for this.
You will not be committed to both the Saturday and Sunday but those who are arriving on the Friday will take priority.
Let me know your thoughts and if you can commit then i'll list you for a place.

The good old Mr Bradley @Dave_ciw will be there with us but only camping this year as his car is having a revamp. Still he is always in good spirit and will no doubt be falling over everyone's tent when slightly intoxicated. haha.

Haha. Quality pal. I'll still stand by my word. Vr6's are a bottomless money pit. I love mine but it hurts my wallet. Lol. Mines out of hibernation now. Tailgate is built up apart from the rear glass. She had a service and oil change. She ain't getting much more apart from a trip to worthersee. Unless the misses is feeling generous and want to fund a bag kit. Hahahahaha

You may well have more luck than me on the air-ride side is all i'll say. After all the monies I've spent on my VR over the last couple of years all I'm likely to get is Pink Papers   and albeit I may just about (but probably not) be able to fund an air-ride kit...? Me don't wanna stump up for a Divorce....  That said though I'll make do with ordering some Alloy Oil/Water caps (jcaps) from the US to go along with the very nice Alloy fuel line support brackets (gruvenparts) that arrived last week.. Hoooyaa...

Hi guys I'm currently running the Brembo 4 pots from a Cupra with 323mm discs and looking for a upgrade. Does anyone know of a Porsche caliper that will fit under 17" wheels and what size disc I can run with it?

    VR6CABBS reacted to VR6Addict in Destroking the 12v VR6?
Hi everyone. I have a 2001 12v VR6 "AFP" that I'm rebuilding block up. I basically have an extra complete engine that I want to build for better performance. My idea is to destroke the engine by putting shorter connecting rods in which will lower the compression and increase high end power. For the loss in the low end I want to put a small turbo (T3/T4) with around 10 psi of boost. So here are my questions:
-Will this make the engine non-interference?
    -Will this still be reliable?
-Would I have to change the crank and what other mods would I need? Cams? Short Runner Intake? Etc.?
-Is there a happy median for boost on a vr6 without breaking reliability?
All answers would be greatly appreciated!! And any VR6 Shops I could get in contact with? I use Techtonics Tuning. Cheers!

I was just wondering if anyone on here is the owner of a red golf vr6 I used to have or has seen it about? reg number M935YSN vin number  WVWZZZ1HZSW514822
I had it written off (cat C) in 2011 due to the handbrake failing and it rolling down a hill and through someone's garden wall, i'll post a pic lol.
I just ran a check on the reg and it's had another 4 keepers after myself but it's currently SORN'd, for some reason I thought it would've just been broken for parts but I'm glad the beast is still alive.
If you are the current owner give me a shout as I still have the spare key for it and all the service history, receipts etc
    cheers.

Indeed. Now there may well be a lot of knowledgeable people on here (more so than me) but my basic advice would be ring the specialist's in their field if you really want definitive answers? When I First considered Forced Induction I rang Vince at Stealth Racing 01926 812259 (Turbo charging) and Dan at TRD (Supercharging) and both where happy to talk to me and give their (actual) honest opinions and advice, which I thought was good of them considering that I wasn't going to use either company..
Worth a phone call. Then atleast you know which way you want to go and what's involved.....

VR6CABBS reacted to Philly-R6 in VR6 dizzy no spark but fuel after rebuild
Can you confirm you cranked the engine (on the key) with the spark plug base against the engine - and no spark was observed.

The distributor has a 3-pin connector:
    pin 1 - 0v
pin 2 - timing signal from the ECU
    pin 3 - 12v

The hall sender is also a 3-pin connector:
    pin 1 - 0v
pin 2 - signal to ECU
    pin 3 - 12v

Check the power is present across pins 1 and 3.
The distributor is powered by the ignition (terminal 15) and the hall sender is powered through Relay 3 - the ECU power supply relay - sharing power with the injectors.
You will need an oscilloscope to see the output of the hall sender.
I suppose you could remove the sensor from the engine, put 12v across pins 1 and 3 and measure the output across pins 1 and 2 as you waft a screwdriver across the end of the sensor. It will probably be a small voltage, but may be detectable?

Are there any clues/faults in the ECU which could guide you?

When I rebuilt my engine, I had fuel and a spark - just not at the same time (the bottom end was 180 degrees out).
So, check everything as you go along. And if there is still doubt, prove your assumptions are still correct!!

Report back with how you get on.

    THE END

So it has come to this. After 7 long years, slowly collecting parts and prepping the poor girl any spare minute I could, on my pitiful salary  Unfortunately circumstances dictate that I must let go and let someone make use of the parts where I could not. I am genuinely sorry I didn't spend more time on her, and I will sorely miss her. But life moves on, the world keeps spinning and change is inevitable. So it is with great hesitation I am putting everything up for sale. I will start with the exciting performance parts first, and will update my sale thread as I work through the pile. If there is anything people need urgently then drop me a line and I will dig it out.

I want to thank everyone for their welcome and company, I've met some great chaps from local meets to organised car shows and can only wish luck in their endeavors (and builds!)
