I don't think a load of block paving or slabs would do much for my power to weight ratio but thanks anyway[emoji1360][emoji23][emoji23] -

Yeah luckily I've got a few mates that are a lot more handy than me with this stuff, so the plan is for me to get it all wired/plumbed in then maybe call in a couple of favours to knock me some sort of boot build up. I'm not that much into these fancy boot builds so the plan is for it to be very neat and simple and hopefully mostly hidden. -

After a few months of occasionally driving the VR but mostly ignoring under its cover on the drive, I've finally found a bit of time today to start doing a few bits to it for this years show season.[emoji51] I started with getting rid of the oil cooler from the front bumper as it's got boring answering questions about it and it definitely won't go with the slightly different look I've got planned for it this year. Last pic of it on there, I've managed to squeeze it in between the A/C rad and crossmember after drilling a hole in the front panel for the pipes to run through, then secured it n -
I just vent straight to atmosphere under the car, runs fine like that and I don't get any bad smells or fumes.

Recently got hold of a set of black colour magics so got them fitted, think I may prefer them to the red black reds[emoji848] Before; After; And one on Bealieboy's drive[emoji1360] -
Hi what was the reg of your car? Mine is red and prior to my ownership had a schrick on it.
-
Haha! Yeah yeah! I bet Cabbs wishes he bought them now though! [emoji38]
-
Haha! I think the real reason you two didn't meet was because as usual Bealieboy was off trying to buy more stuff for his car! Like he does at every show after saying that he's not going to spend any money! [emoji23][emoji106] Cabbs can back me up on that one! [emoji12]

I'll go Players with you again but only if you don't have to be home for lunch?![emoji87][emoji106]

Any named one should be good, Sealey stuff is good, Signet the same, Halfords Pro range, Draper not bad if you're on a budget, or if money is no object you can't beat Snap On stuff[emoji106]

That's fine mate, mines going to be coming off of the front of mine soon, so I could possibly sell you the extended hoses if you want, they were bloody expensive from pirtek! So I'll be making a move into the world of air ride soon, never really played with it and half of what this car is about to me is trying new things (to me anyway) to see how and if I can make them work! Makes for excellent toilet reading[emoji1][emoji108] And at least I shouldn't have a problem getting on the rollers at the next rolling road day![emoji23][emoji106] -
Really nice car and a good read! Love Rallye front ends on mk2's[emoji7]! And you've saved me from buying a set of those eBay pullies that I've been thinking about for a while, so thanks for that[emoji106]

You probably want something like a Miltek exhaust then, you're best bet for buying it would be online, they do come up second hand quite often on here or eBay if you can wait, then any good garage should be able to get it fitted. The garage I work at is probably a bit far up the A10 for you in Ware Hertfordshire though we have got a couple of good exhaust fitters that have been doing it for a very long time!

Where abouts in North London are you? And what sort of exhaust are you after? Performance/original?

That sounds expensive! [emoji15] I need to get my n.o.s block and pistons built up soon, as I'm fed up with looking at it and all the parts around my toolbox at work, plus my old engine is probably not going to last forever! -

Wasn't to hard just a bit of elbow grease, a small dye grinder, a can of etch primer, a can of gloss black and finally a can of wheel silver, I restrained myself from going too mad and 2 pack priming it to smooth it and then base and laquering it, just wanted it to look clean and new. [emoji41] -

Just a little update, as this being a Dad stuff seems to take a fair bit of time up! [emoji23] I'm planning to change the clutch soon, so got the gearbox I've had sitting around for ages which is fitted with a Quaiffe diff cleaned and painted up and fitted with new driveshaft and end cap seals. While I was at it I smoothed a few casting marks out as well, this was the etch primer, All done and back together; I've also reinforced a spare clutch fork I had laying about, so now I just need to get a clutch and fit it. -
Grooved and dimpled discs
bennyk replied to mattvr6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Mine make a bit of noise at the moment, but when I've had grooved discs on previous cars they tend to bed in and quieten down after a while.
