1997 vr6 I got a reciept from july 1997 for the instalation of a VAG alarm system. Still fully working total closure. Also have bill of sale- it had covered 3200miles and was £20500 a ford maverick was PX for £14000. £6500 cash Thats an expensive car even today. Also it has only had four owners covered 66,000 miles and always been in the same town. Still see previous owner quite regular

ok thats cool i was hoping it was just a blank. Otherwise i had lost the sensor. I did remove a rather rusty 17mm bolt off the suspect area but it was totally mangled so didnt no what was missing. Guess ill need a genuine blank plug

Last few days have noticed my exhaust blowing and sounding crap. Had my car on a ramp today and it is blowing from the factory CAT, The fumes were coming from a threaded hole on the right hand side, were the cat joins the system. Does it just need a blanking plug or is there meant to be a sensor in there. Oxygen sensor is at the top front of CAT and still attached.

doubt its weather connected? I had a similar problem few months back, if you try lifting the the outside handle as you pull it does it open? Try that, worked for me and hasn't done it since. Strange

what do hella blacks look like? Are they not what are fitted to GTIs as standard
-
ok cheers mate. i thought because they were so far forward and infront of the wheels might not be uk legal. thanks for that

Side repeaters are a legal requirement by law. However could they be smooted and filled, and replaced with US spec front bumber markers?

stretched tyres question
HAMMER_VR6 replied to probert993's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I have 17 BBS 7.5" wide. When i bought the car it had 195/40/17 Yokohama S-drives fitted. The car was fairly low and when i drove the car enthusiastically the tyre rubbed the front arches. Swapped my front tyres for Falken 195/40/17 ZE912 and now my tyres never rub the arches. Really chuffed with them, they perform well and look great. They have noticably more strech despite being the same size. Also sounds strange but tyre black stays on them better and looks glossy for longer -
I blame D@VeR6, went to buy some parts and have a chat at his breakers yard and smashed my splitter to bits just as i got there.
-
I keep catching my splitter on things and breaking them. Im on my third. I have been buying them off ebay and payed about £25 for both sides. Cant remember if that included delivery They clip in perfectly fine and fit as they should. Where they join in the middle there is a gap of about 1cm, but they co connect together properly if that makes sense.

I know just being helpful. Well trying anyway???

Change all off the bushes on your motor for best results. My car was still running the original bushes. I replaced the lot with powerflex and noticed a huge difference. Felt really tight and the steering was instant. well chuffed!!! However they are mega expensive. Also note that if you do decided to replace your bushes you will need to get new bush bolts from VW you cant re-use the old ones. VR6 golfs are fitted with a 20mm front anti roll bar. Mk2 GTI only fitted with a 18mm so they are not interchangeable. My complete kit consisted of 20mm front anti roll bar x2 2x front wishbone mounts 2x

6mm would perform like Rolf Harris wobble board. Definately not strong enough for a sub. If you were to buy a sub enclosure it would be made of at least 12mm

Rob I think yellow would look the **** in there I think that apart from the immaculate interior is my favourite bit of your motor. I have seen this car in the flesh a few times and the lad wears it proud it truly is stunning. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey thanks man, Appreciate that. Yellow may be a bit bright for me. Have you filled that pot hole in yet.

I have got a tin of genuine mystic blue paint in the shed. Do u think that would stick? Would look great haveing them body colour but may burn off
