What colour shall i paint my calipers? Currently matt black but perhaps to subtle. I think red would be a bit flashy. I was thinking a gunmetal grey. Is hammerite the best paint to use?

rainbows? never even heard of the, does the original speaker cover fit over them. Problem is i have a mushroom leather interior and tacky black speaker covers would look w*nk

Ok thanks guys, need to save my pennies then. This month my rear wheel bearings discs and pads need changing.

Anybody upgraded their front door and dash speakers with some quality components? I want a set but they need to be slim enough to fit the original speaker covers

Hey dave did you go and see him, or just on the phone, Hes real sound bloke and i have had alot of work done there. Just hope he does a good job for you otherwise id feel pretty bad.

Your a knowledgeable chap, Sounds like alot of work and expense, for not alot of gain. Could a 24v inlet be made to fit to your knowledge???????

Little tip, If your running coilovers adjust them to desired height then cover the threads in waxoyl. Only couple of quid and prevents them from seizing, the waxoyl remains soft meaning very simple adjustment.

Dont the american manifolds have the air intake on the left side of the engine bay. (AS YOU LOOK AT THE MOTOR)

No, but the American MK4 12v manifold fits right on. OK would there be any advantage to fitting one of these?

in this cold weather my car has been hard starting when left overnight. Again never fails just sounds lazier than normal. Never noticed my speedo do that. (never seen my speedo over 130 actually GOT SCARED)

24v vr6s have plastic inlet manifolds with a VSR system built into them as standard. My question. Can they be adapted to fit the 12v engine, the fact its plastic should help to resist heat soak, and the VSR should improve torque much like a schrick. But without costing ££££

I sold my schrick for £600 so they come up every so often. People who have owned schricks rave about em, where as those who haven't say they are too expensive. Always baffles me that as they make the car sooooo much better to drive, hence why the 24v has them or same principle as standard If the 24v have a VSR or similar as standard, is there anyway of adapting one to fit 12V

Regards MPG i average 28mpg. the most i have ever seen my trip computer read was 35mpg on a long journey.

One thing i always want to know is the mileage. When i read an advert that doesnt list mileage im suspicious. But hey thats just me. Car looks great on the pictures and has obviously been given alot of TLC. I bought my car 12 months ago and paid £4700, it was show room condition and only covered 56,000 miles. Im a firm believer of you get what you pay for in life. buy cheap buy twice!!!

I used to have one years ago for my nova, And it was brill. covered everything torque settings etc. But haynes just dont do a manual for the vr6. However theres a company called robert bentley and they make a vr6 manual. Im getting one for christmas of misses. It arrived but she has hidden it so i dont know if its any good or not. it wants to be good the price of it.

Haynes manuals are good for general stuff but they dont make one that covers the vr6 engine. so it would include bodywork, brakes, interior, suspension but not engine. If you know how to jack a car up and remove a wheel then removing the calipers are easy. done it many times and im only a DIYer. Best tools for the job are Stiff wire brush Can of brake cleaner Hammerite or brake paint.
