  4. My mate has a stripped out Gti-6 and is faster off the line but I pull ahead at around 80 and keep going. But he is much quicker than mine in the corners as the vr is very front heavy and understeers a lot. A g60 final drive will definitely change the way it feels on a track so like Pete said I would recommend this too
  5. Just choosing materials for the manifold, what material is the lower mani made of? Is it alloy? Measuring it all and probably attempt it next weekend, my only problem with the turbo build is that my turbo may be too small and just spin up the wheels and break my box and clutch
  6. Won't make alot of difference, is it obd1 or 2? If 2 can't do anything, if 1 then can make larger but not a diy job, I know someone who can do you one for around £100?
  7. Hose is leaking at the end but just left it running till it warmed up and it has pretty much stopped leaking so will check my drip tray in the morn and will see what the damage is

I have had a right day fitting my new radiator in, some tw*t had over tightened the bolts on the bumper so had to drill them out, then remove the cross member, two bolts too drill out there, got my new radiator in, in the dark! Put all hoses back on ect, bottom hose is leaking so shall I just replace the hose or cut the end off and tighten it, as I put new clips on but halfords finest.... Says it all. Any advice would be appreciated.

  10. Don't suppose you remember how long your flex below was do you? I know it's 2xtight 90's and a 30 but is it a 3" long one? Just to confirm
  11. Can I just say incredible build and I tried to look at it again today but most of the earlier pictures have been deleted? Would be nice to see them back up if possible!
  12. I have acquired a garrett t25 for a very small fee. But it has been sitting around on a shelf for a while. Minimal play in the shaft. But looking to get it reconditioned to be on the safe side. Anyone know if this is difficult to put in new bearings etc? Or shall I just send it off to a specialist?
  13. It's pretty loud but that's what the radio is for Yeah big 500 won't be till I fit the forged block in and fit an updated gearbox just need something to beat my mates 1.8t 225 at the minute then will aim higher once other engine is in
  14. I usually get 20-25 mpg on a 10 miles drive but that's rush hour both ways and a bit of double carriage way where I tend too floor it after being sat in traffic
  15. Only running around 6psi to start with the gradually turn it up as gearbox is standard so don't want to destroy it straight away
  16. Well it's my birthday on the 8th of may so aiming to have it all done and mapped by then then off to some shows, shame the paintwork is a bit off. I have another engine which I am rebuilding and am going to make it 'bomb proof' with some wossner pistons etc and rebuild the head with larger valves etc from shimmel but that won be done till summer then considering a updated r32 box with a diesel final drive. Then might concentrate on how it looks, but doubt it it's an addictive bug once you start making it faster
