    Loving the late night posts mate! I can't sleep so I'm checking them out... You are putting a lot of work into the project and I can't wait to see the results! The wheels look mint and I am even more excited about getting my HID's as well now after seeing yours in action!

    Well I zeroe'd the MAF toda when cruising at about 70mph on the A38 and the most I saw was mid 30's and as soon as you touched the throttle after slowing down it soon went down to averaging about 30! I have no idea how some people are getting into the 40's.Must be a combination of good servicing and some efficiency improving mods or something!

    Awesome car mate love it! Always regret not going for one and getting the Leon Cupra R instead! Quick car but no character in the delivery. Now I've gone the VR route I wouldn't look back - R32 is the daddy...

    Will get mine looked at as well then, cos I'm struggling to get 250... think the beast could do with plugs and leads changing and maybe some 10k Boost or something running through it! I think my tyres are a bit low on pressure as well, or maybe a good old fashioned check of the mixture!

    What??!! 42mpg on a trip, or was it resetting the MFA when you were cruising on an A road or something? I drive really carefully on the way to work and the very best I've had is 30-31... I think I will try resetting the trip mpg on an A road once the car is warmed up and see what it's getting then!

    As soon as you take off release the 2 arrow keys and just tap them to go up straight, don't keep them pressed like I did to start with! And when you hear "SEPARATE!!!!!" he means it... lol

    300 from a tank is exceptionally good! I guess you might only got that on a constant motorway trip. I don't know about you guys but the most fuel I've ever got in my tank is about 10 gallons, it seems a small tank, and the needle moves straight away from full pretty much! Most cars I've had usually stay full for about 50 miles or so while it uses the fuel in the filler neck I guess. This gives the impression it is less economical than it actually is! Don't know about others like....

    Sweet, I guess the extra power puts less stress on the engine at cruising speed or something. Might use that to get some mods past the wife - "you see love this will mean I get more mpg..."

    Yeah I generally use spray on de-icer and whack the heater on full on the windscreen! The best solution I've seen is in my humble Focus - the Ford Quickclear Windscreen - one buttone clears the screen of ice in about 45 seconds!

    Agreed, I've seen 30mpg on the way to work i the traffic is good. Not been on the motorway for a good run yet, but I would have thought over 30 well possible! It's crap when you go out to the jobs and get 19mpg though! I imagine tuned cars get well less!

    Hi mate, yeah I use mine every day for the commute, but I've only had mine about 3 months! I am spending about £120 or so a month on petrol and it does get to me. If the trafic is bad then I struggle to get 25mpg on the way home. I get about 26mpg over the tank. I didn't buy it for economy though! I am looking at a few jobs coming up as well and I have thought about maybe getting shot, but the cars only got 61k on the clock so I feel it's worth putting a little bit of money into it to restore it to its former glory! I guess you gotta balance it up and see if its worth it... not much help but

    Not sure mate, I'm not sure if it's kind on the body work to be honest! A little might not hurt but pure de-icer? Most washer fluids have anti-freeze so in them anyway!

    Yes I always see a lot of Mazda's and Honda's out there, but the character of the VR6 is just so much better! Hope to see more of those sorts of pic's man, better than rainy old England!

    Er ok, didn't kmow that! Bummer, last thing I want is the law sniffing round my vehicle... anybody been pulled with an HID conversion I wonder?

    Loving the car and the Cypriot backdrop my man! having been to Cyprus I know there is a good car scene out there, but this is the first decent Golf I have seen. Nice one! Are they the Troodos mountains?
